It was a single episode, a docudrama. It was okay, the story itself wasn't that great but the facts about what happened and their relation to the legend were interesting. It's up on iplayer, and there's a documentary also up looking at the evidence.
I actually did a class on this to make up some credits a few years back and it was only one of a few theories of what happened back then, I guess they've got some proper evidence for it now (haven't actually watched the documentary I linked yet).
