"Leverkusen star Jurica Vranjes cranked up the war of words before the tie by claiming David Beckham's broken foot has left United at half-strength.

Croatian playmaker Vranjes, 22, believes Beckham's absence will ease the German club's passage into the final.

The Bundesliga leaders showed their attacking prowess when they dumped Liverpool 4-3 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.

And the influential Vranjes insisted: "We are lucky that Beckham is missing. He is half their team.

"This is our chance to reach the final - we really want to beat United.

"They may have a very good team, but it is hard to replace Beckham."

This guy obviously knows a whole lot about United

i agree with you, but you must admit that the loss of Beckham AND Keano is gonna be tough on United.

No doubt about that, but then have faith! We still have depth in our midfields to overcome the loss of keane and beck.

This is already a media lie!!

Even if Keano's not back for the first leg like the papers suggest, he's probable for the second leg. Vranjes won't know what hit him. (Though the ref might!) <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Who cares what Vranjes (or whatever his name is) thinks.
we proved many times we can do it without becks or keano, or both.
let them speak <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

One player doesn't make a team, we've learnt that time and time again.
This point was also proved last week with England not having Becks yet still the team played well as a unit.

Admittedly I would love to have a full strong squad but that just aint gonna happen.

Let the team play as a team and we will get the result we need.

No Beckham or Keane......well at least we still have Scholes, Butt, Giggs and Veron to shore up our crippled midfield! <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

ho ho ho that little prick is gonna get quite a shock then .... GIGGS, SCHOLES, VERON, RVN, OLE etc

I like it when the opposition said these things about us before the game.
It just added the pleasure when we actually beat them :D

cheers..
