... are in fecking shambles.

1-3 v Hannover, 2-6 v Olympiakos, 2-3 v Bremen (conceded all 3 goals within 5 minutes)

13 goals conceded in 6 matches, just 5 points and 14th in the Bundesliga table (if Stuttgart lose v Bielefeld later today) ...

Now or never, lads.

Whats gone wrong with them Jens?

They still look a decent enough side on paper to me, despite the loss of Ballack and Ze Roberto

Haven´t watched them too much and I think their squad is deeper than last season´s squad, but it seems like some new signings didn´t pan out as expected. Simak´s always been a headcase and their new Brazilian defender Juan must be awful.

Toppmöller benched Butt after their home loss v Hannover last week and his backup has now conceded 9 goals in 2 matches.

One problem might be that they have no leader on the pitch atm. Nowotny´s out until the new year and Ballack is gone.

Their 2-6 v Olympiakos didn´t surprise me as much as it surprised most other people as this is exactly their European form pre 2001-2002. They used to embarrass themselves against lesser opposition the years before.

It shows how important Ballack was to the team. We have a real chance to make our mark this season when we play Bayer. I hope the team don't take them too lightly. I don't think they will, apart from Rio they were all there last year when they denied us a CL final. They want revenge.
