Always in the right
Seems to be hinting he fancies the PL, and Fergie has gone after him several times before.
The wages being quoted are £45k per week.
Is the 33 year old the answer to our problem?
IMO, he could be!

No more South Americans please.

Too much of a gamble.

why and don't say veron and forlan coz forlan was a unknow quantity and veron not suited to the prem .... whereas batigol is a proven legend and i think well suited to the prem due in fact he is pretty similar to ruud.

i think Aimar would be a success..spesh in a withdrawn striker role..

he'd be perfect IMO.

He was hussled out of the game last Wednesday and it would probably take him as long to settle as it will for Veron & Forlán.
The majority of fans (myself excluded) dont have the patience for that so it wouldnt be a good move imo.

I think hed be great here too, but he would have the same problems as the other two and considering ppl arnt prepared to give them time and blamb everything on them id hate to see it happen to another great player. If i were him i wouldnt go to Utd, who needs the grief?

I think United supporters are generally very patient - you can't say they don't get behind Forlan, and it's only recently that personal opinion has swung away a bit from Seba. Of course there are always some who want instant results, but I don't think Forlan or Veron haven't been given a chance.

United however, are a team in transition - which isn't a good time to take risks. Not fair on the player, the team, or the fans.

One Latin I would like to see here is Gonzales.

Tho I still think the EPL is a whole different ball-game.

forlans not had many starts.</strong><hr></blockquote>

I mean given a chance by the supporters.

I dont think he was what we need now, a few years ago i would have given anything to see him in a utd shirt, those days are goen now and he has nothing we need really, still if he comes i wont complain he is still legend, just prefer someone younger!

exactly...though i'm still scared that fergie will go with his favourites (ala blanc)...

Cafu, Batistuta.... these players only want to come to OT when their careers have past their peak and they're over the hill. If Batigol had any sort of desire to play for us like he apparently does he would have came sooner. feck him, he can rot for Roma on his 90k wage packet. ;)

Not as extreme as Gazza, but NO he's definately not the answer to our prayers!!!

I'll presume you people haven't watched much Serie A football recently. Batistuta has been, in a word, shite, for the past two years. He had one good year for Roma, an them he was gone. If there's anything left in him, it's for Chelsea to find.
Once a living legend, now just a fading player with one hell of a reputation. :D

Exactly - his game was based on pace and power and now that's faded due to age, he's a shadow of the player he once was.
