well, the yanks didn't have their best players so not much to discuss. Had they had Shaq and Tim Duncan playing the result would have been different. Excellent big men are vital in basketball.

fair point, they had some good players but Greece played basketball better i.e. like a team. The other nations have also caught up with the USA, they haven't got Jordans, Larry Birds etc anymore, these new stars are nowhere near that standard. The game played in the NBA also contributes to the yanks being so shit, i.e. it's a show these days where the main players are being treated like primadonnas and where it's all about building an image.
