Just seen a quick flash on Sky Sports that he's been given permission to speak to Arsenal. This has got to be a joke hasn't it? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I know that he wasn't at his best at the end of the season but still don't like to contemplate the prospect of him playing for those clowns. <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

If he's been given permission then there's no need to worry. We'll have a replacement lined up. Bring on the blonde urang-utan.

I am very pitty with Barthez's condition now.IMO,he must not play for us as no.1 because I don't think we can ever make it to get the CL title with him.If this is truth, then maybe we should let him go.For me this is the best way he can choose now.

I think that Bathez is getting picked on too much. Just to point out.... statistically, Barthez is doing better this season than last season.

Isnt it strange how people want to see the back of certain players, then panic when that player might go to a rival. What kind of bollox logic is that. If we're not offering him a contract (and I done think we should) then he's free to go wherever he wants, even a rival.

Remember SAF being upset with Bosnich for signing for Chelsea, not that he was upset for long mind!

Barthez's agent ?

From what I know, he hasn't any agent. He manages himself his affairs.

If he leaves I think he won't stay in England. The links the French press has talked about are PSG, Lyon, Marseille, Monaco, and abroad, Barcelona.

Um...where exactly is this story? Don't seem to be able to find it anywhere... <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS!!!!!!

If Barthez moves 2 Arsenal, ill eat my man utd shirt!!!

Ok, that would b a bit 2 drastic, but still, that will never happen.

Fab is a <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Barthez is a great character and well liked in the dressing room. I agree he is a devil through and through.

I don't think that the management at MUFC would sell Barthez to any club in the EPL, unless it was a ridiculous offer - i.e. more than what Man Utd paid for him.

Barthez is a great shot stopper. Good reflexes and can get low quickly.

He has a two fold achilles heel though:
1. Lack of height/extended reach.
2. Tendancy to stand-off his line.

It really showed against Real Madrid.

Chris Kirkland would be my first choice keeper if he were fit. Good height/reach. Young. Good reflexes.

I don't mind letting him go for GBP12m if he goes to Arse. Other clubs, GBP10m.

Kirkland is the best young goalkeeper in England who I rate highly. If he is playing week-in, week-out he should already be England's no.1 now. Too bad he has chosen to be a scouser.

What about Parma-keeper Sebastien Frey. Talented young keeper who already has been given a lot of experience from his years in Italy. He is my first choice.

He doesn't seem very good. Read <a href="http://www.redcafe.info//ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=002089&p=" target="_blank">this thread</a>.
