Just seen a quick flash on Sky Sports that he's been given permission to speak to Arsenal. This has got to be a joke hasn't it?

Yes we would. Certainly not to Arsenal.

Barthez's agent ?
From what I know, he hasn't any agent. He manages himself his affairs.
If he leaves I think he won't stay in England. The links the French press has talked about are PSG, Lyon, Marseille, Monaco, and abroad, Barcelona.

I don't think that the management at MUFC would sell Barthez to any club in the EPL, unless it was a ridiculous offer - i.e. more than what Man Utd paid for him.
Barthez is a great shot stopper. Good reflexes and can get low quickly.
He has a two fold achilles heel though:
1. Lack of height/extended reach.
2. Tendancy to stand-off his line.
It really showed against Real Madrid.
Chris Kirkland would be my first choice keeper if he were fit. Good height/reach. Young. Good reflexes.

Kirkland is the best young goalkeeper in England who I rate highly. If he is playing week-in, week-out he should already be England's no.1 now. Too bad he has chosen to be a scouser.

He doesn't seem very good. Read this thread.
