The bald frenchman is back to his nippy best

Reminds me of his first season at OT

Great comeback, Barthez!

Totally agree. He totally deserves a pat on his back.

He made some very important saves.

He's played very well this season

I saw the game on TV(my first United game of the season).

He has made better games, because he didn't have very difficult saves to do, but he looked calm and assured, I think he's better in his head than last autumn, his concentration has come back.

Now he has to do a great game in an important final like he has done for Marseille or France. Hope it will happen this year.

But it's true, this season reminds me his first for United.

I thought he had a great World Cup, 'specially against Uruguay.

He is the greatest goalkeeper, he just lost concentrations in some of the games last season. Gladly now he is back to his good form again. :)

I think it's because he's got a relatively stable back 4 in front of him, and has the confidence in them. Add to that, Butt and Phil Neville are doing a great job of holding the opposition before they get into the final 3rd of the field in the absence of Keano.

Even in his prime, Peter Schmeichel was the best keeper in the world because he had a solid defence in front of him. You needed to get past Bruce & Pally, Irwin and later Stam and Ronny Johnsen before you even got close to him!!

I kinda feel sorry for him now at City because their defence is making him look bad. :(

But then again, it's City...... <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Fabien did make some cock-ups last season, but he also took the fall for some very poor defending. He looks a lot more focussed this year.

My only concern is that he has yet to be really tested this season.

This is a testiment to the defence, although I personally never lost faith in Fabien.

I agree he's yet to be tested, but the more good games he has before that happens the better for his confidence.
The more games he plays without being really tested are more games between him and his injury.
I don't think many people lost faith that he would regain his form but last year we didn't have the defence to protect him

I just hope he continues to play well. The opponents for the last five games are not so great teams. I also hope he can do well against Arsenal too.
:)
