Barry Fergie

Not really. Lets get Colin Healy if we are shopping in Scotland.
Ferguson hasn't impressed that much in international games and in European competition to convince that he is class. IMO

Whereas Healy is languishing behind Petrov, Lambert and Lennon in the Celtic midfield.

But Healy has impressed in international games when given a chance...and the reason he is "languishing" is that he is refusing to sign a new contract.

I'd consider Peter Lovenkrands. They are showing a fair bit of Scottish football in Ireland this year and by and large the quality is crap. League of Ireland is on a level with most of it.

Barry Ferguson is miles off Utd standard, hed fit in better at Sunderland or the like.
Not to mention the fact that he is unclean.

Murt, if you werent so bitter i might take you seriously.
Barry F is playing as good football this season as Keano was for Forest the season before United bought him. That being said i cant see United buying him.
a fine player though and i brought the topic up of signing him last summer before we got Veron. But as it stands at the moment i cant see us signing any more central midfield players.

I've mentioned Barry Ferguson in another thread, the if you could be Alex Ferguson for 5mins thread, and the suggestion got a from that font of footballing knowledge Dans, who still hasn't explained his hysteria at this suggestion!!!

I think he is an excellent player and could definately be a possibility to replace Keano.

And just why is Healy refusing to sign a new contract?

If you're looking for a young, British centre midfielder Ferguson is your best bet.

Very consistent, two-footed, endless stamina, excellent passing, strong in the tackle, fast, dynamic, creative, can score from distance and good for 10-15 goals a season.

If you want a replacement for Keane, look no further than John O'Shea.

If you must buy one in, then Baraja of Valencia, although he'll cost some.

O'Shea can be the future CM dynamo, he has everything. in a couple of years he will have the ability to wipe Vieira off the blackboard
