Mods - in a recent post, a word I tyied got starred out - I suspect it was "a.p.l.o.m.b". I understand why we have some of these when they aren't conducive to reasonable debate (such as the one concerning our no. 9s relative lack of success; the one indicating maturbation; or the annoying shorthand way of agreeing), but this one is in the OED! What's the reason behind banning it?

They're all vital parts of day-to-day vocabulary. Aplumb is only used in the worn-to-death cliche 'he finished with aplumb'.

I think it's a forum that was made from posters who left this place. It's actually kinda common when it comes to online communities, well not just in that, but businesses as well. The old Business doesn't want to inadvertently advertise their new competitor now does it, especially with it being old employees.

I just want to know why legitimate words are considered taboo on the forum.
