Bangladesh have just won their third ever test match in their 9 year history of cricket.

The first one was a home win versus a depleted Zimbabwe after the African nation lost their top players due to wage differences between the board and the players.

The next 2 were their last 2 matches that they played versus a depleted West Indies after the island nation lost their top players due to wage differences between the board and the players.

This marks Bangladesh's first ever test series victory.

How bad are they both? West Indies only have Darren Sammy as a decent player in this team, while Bangladesh are just too poor to be called a test team after these performances versus a West Indies 'C' Team.

That said, both test matches were quite close encounters and the result was in doubt till the middle of the last day of play on both occasions.

Sri Lanka were given test status in 81, I think. It took them 15 years to develop a decent side. Having said that, I'm surprised that Bangladesh haven't shown more improvement.

We should never have been given test status at the time and the players in our team until 2005 or so were club standard.

Now we've got 11 players who were all outstanding at youth World Cup level.

The results have only improved slightly but the level of talent has improved 300%.

We'll get there.
