There are some things you don't joke about. Christ there are some things that shouldn't even enter your mind to treat as a joke.

One of the sickest, most horrifying and depressing events i have read about in a long time and he comes out with that. I'm ashamed to just read his comment. Lucky it wasn't about Hillsborough eh

but why?..forgetting that joke..just because YOU or someone else might not find something funny does not mean another might not...its about knowing your audience...

One of my favourite jokes is How do you know when your sister is having her period?

or This guy phones his boss and says I cant come in today I'm sick and the boss says How sick are you?

Some might laff at the punchlines ..some might burst into tears...convents and Womens Institute meetings might be a no no for those types..

again..personally I did'nt find that funny..but just cause you and I did'nt does not mean someone else might not..who are we to police the whats appropriate for jokes club....next you'll be telling me I cant post Racist jokes and that it is some kinda offence...

The fact that you even have to ask why is just as worrying. Imagine this Robbo. You and your family are sitting at home for the sunday roast. Its just any other day. The next thing you know your door is knocked down and enemy soldiers poor into your house. They restrain you and take your wife and family all bar your 14 year old daughter into the next room. You then have to listen, powerless as your 14 year old daughter is gang raped by the soldiers. As you listen to her screams you're family, you're elder daughters are shot one by one. then your wife. Mercifully for you you do not have long enough to feel the whole horror and your young daughters cries are cut off from you as you're brains are blown across your newly carpeted floor. She on the other hand is now being raped by the same man wh okilled her dad, her mum, and her sisters. Imagine the horror going through her mind. Imagine if your daughter had to g through that ordeal. Your wife is pregnant right. Well picture that happening to your family and tell me its right to joke about.

feck sakes i cant believe i am even having to explain this. I'm gratefu lfor the fact that making a joke about somehthing like that is still beyond my comprehension.

Well if he is he has wound me up succesfully. Good for him. But then I have seen the results of rape so it is a very touchfu and personal subject for me.

I can not stand rapists, in my opinion its a crime as bad if not worse than murder. But the i guess he has never had to cope with such an ordeal. I don't think some people understand the suffering and scarring left after a rape. The mental and inner strength it takes to recover is remarkable and should be regarded as such. It is very rarely is though. And to make a joke like that about it is degrading and deeply insulting against that girls and every other rape victims suffering.

As I posted in the thread itself, is it just me who thinks something seems odd about that comment? It is indeed very disturbing, and the person should feel deeply ashamed of themselves for making it. Could the account have been breached? or the post altered? Or were they just pissed last night and attempted a joke?

The thing is they had made a post earlier in thread where they had the opportunity to air this particular view. And why would they then go on to contradict themselves, I don't know TRF personally, but i'd like to hope that he wouldn't willingly make a comment like that...
