Backing Eric Ten Hag | anyone left?

Since this thread is guaranteed to be locked: I sometimes scratch and sniff!

Let's not forget Sir Alex almost got a sack, too, so anyone who wants ETH out essentially wants to deny us the second coming of SAF.

I’ve long backed him, partly because I’m sick of the same players getting a fresh start under new managers before reverting to type.

I’ve got no answer to why he consistently starts a player most guilty of that. EDIT - and also the majority of those are now long gone. This is his side.

It’s time for a fresh start for me. We’ve got a fresh start with the owners and footballing structure, let them choose their man and move on while there is still a season to be played.

He's got until December. If there is not a dramatic improvement in the way we play he's got no one to blame but himself.

No idea what this even means.

Hold out blind optimism and not point out any floors when they become evident? Operate on a sliding scale of responsibility attribution where he always looks as good as possible?

Act like regularly getting battered by not only Liverpool, City ect. But also Fulham, Newcastle and Palace is normal and okay for a club the size of Utd?

Well no.

If we suddenly start playing some decent football and getting results will I be happy and point out the good just as quickly as the bad? Yeah.

I'm of the opinion we need to hold our nerve on making a decision until towards the end of the year.

Despite how crap we have been (particularly yesterday) I can see that we are improving our press (yesterday not having Mount killed us in this respect) and fluidity of passing. I'd rather see where this goes than hit reset again.

The new signings (most of whom already look promising) will have bedded in, we have reduced reliance on Casemiro who is our weakest link and will have had (hopefully) Hojlund back for a few months and will be converting more chances.

However, he needs to show some balls and drop Rashford and Bruno if they continue to underperform and stop with the nonsense about trophies. He's making himself look foolish and he will lose the dressing room.

Given we theoretically have a new 'game model' and new coaches (who won't be going anywhere since they're Ineos hires) and a ton of incoming and outgoing players we're going through (yet another...) transition phase. We need to make a call though end of the year if it's going bad. I've said that all summer and don't see why I should change my mind now.

Have said for ages all I really wanted was even signs of improvement in order to give him longer.

I've not seen enough it seems the same old shite with different players.

I am really hopeful for the young players but can't see it happening unless a change is made.
