Phil Neville had the perfect pick-me-up this week... he became a father for the first time.

The Manchester United defender, dropped from the England squad for the World Cup, can now put his footballing woes to one side following the birth of Harvey James Neville. The boy, weighing in at 6 pounds 14 ounces, is the first child of Phil and his wife Julie, who were married in December 1999.

I would like to congratulate proud parents Phil and Julie, and Harvey's uncle Gary Neville.
