Ayala's agent Gustavo Mascardi has apparently said the following:

"Manchester are looking for a central defender and a right midfielder, and Ayala is one of the candidates"

Firstly the defender part - we definitely need a world class central defender and Ayala could well fit the bill. I'd be happier signing him than Nesta tbh. Although the rumoured £10M+ for a 28(?) year old sounds like a lot of money but if you want the best you have to pay for it.....

And what the hell is that right midfielder comment about? How would an agent know United's transfer interests unless they were looking at another of his players. It's even stranger that he would say that since we're close to signing becks on a new contract (allegedly!) <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

It is supposed to be a right fullback.Has seen a right fullback be mentioned on other sites cant remember which ones.

Fergie is going for him and Nesta in the same way he chased Veron and Vierra in case he misses out on one! However if blanc calls it quits he just might purchase both! :cool:
 
Ayala is the player we need, I don't go with buying Nesta, Ayala and Wes Brown will do just fine. I have seen Ayala lots on Sky, he will sort out the back four, he reads the game well, good pace and strong in the tackle. Maybe we need a right back as well, Mills is a strong candidate, IMO.
