does anyone know of any good programs? basically I have some avi files which I want to watch on my media player but the GMC warp points (or something like that) aren't supported.

Apparently you can re-encode to set GMC to 0. However, don't know of any decent encoding tools for a mac?

i have no idea what gmc warp points are but i downloaded Divx player yesterday and it works fine for watching my .avi files.
I can post the link if you wish?

ah I can watch it fine on the mac itself

but on my WD TV live media player (HD player, hooks up to tv, plays files off my computer wirelessly) when GMC is >0 it can't play it (apparently a common if not universal problem amongst stand alone media players), so I was hoping someone would know of a tool where I can re-encode the AVI file to remove the GMC points

edit: re-read the last post:

I just googled "re-encode gmc to 0 avi". Top hit was this thread, second took me to a thread that recommended Virtualdub. It's for windows, but "Virtualdub mac" gave this as the first hit:

VirtualDub Alternatives for Mac (OS X)

Took all of 2 minutes.

AVI isn't an encoding, it's a wrapper.
