Is there anyway we can get avatars to use on the forum? Baz is the only one I know with one and I think theres a few others.

Would be easier to identify whos who by looking at their avatar rather than their username.

I think it's much easier to look at a username, its just a word or so, not that hard.
 
avatars are shit, people would just upload nude girls. It'd be the biggest wankfest ever witnessed

When I had my last image, it did make it much easier to find my posts. It's like finding a Jason post for example, you can be scanning a thread very quickly, but then it just pops up at you. The human brain works in a very visual way, so the point is valid.

Avatars are not going to happen here however, and this is still in the wrong forum.
 
Why have you not got your avatar anymore Weaste ?
 
Forums with the avatar function enabled just look tacky.

thats because avatars are few and far between

if everyone had one then it wouldnt be so easy ?

i wasnt talking about the slowing down part

i just said that if two or more people had similar avatars then it wouldnt really help to have an avatar since it wouldnt be as easily distinguishable as one suggests
 
I think there'd be a risk of anti-semitic av's as well

Yes, but that's highly unlikely. This forum is quite large, yet is small fry. Look at some of the really big ones, it is not a problem. The argument is similar to having two neighbours wearing the same clothes, it rarely happens.

The reason we don't have avatars is because they look shit, next you'll be asking for .sigs (they look shit too) (shitter, in fact). Like weaste says; it's a 'non-argument'! (Yeah, i don't know what he's on about either :wenger: but he's got a good point!)
 
Avatars and signatures and all that stuff is crap.

Forums with that look like a circus.
