Hi, I have the Avatars options unchecked in my Control Panel but I still see them.
Is there a way that I can turn these off?

We don't have avatars on here. Do you means smilies or emoticons as some people call them?
If it's the odd ones like Baz or Fred then that's because they're not actually avatars. We have avatars turned off but the mods can use scripts in the name tags to include images with most of the ones on here having been done either for favours or as jokes.
