Anyone watching this? Bloody oath, should be a good finish..

Amazing partnership from Siddle and Hussey has gotten us back into it.

Pakistan are 3/51 in their second innings needing 124 runs to take it out. Pakistan looked to have been given the game on a plate after Australia made an abysmal 127 in their first innings.

McGrath called it right.

Done by the fouth day and Australia to win by 37.

Epic finish. I wonder if they'll have the "Super Sydney" DVD come out soon? :p

Great 9th-wicket partnership there in Hussey and Siddle. Pakistan should be very disappointed with how things turned out today; could have easily won the game last night.

BTW, Australia won by 36, so McGrath almost called it right.

Ah really? I walked in from the gym and my brother told me he got it spot on. Might kick him in the balls later.

pakistan lost more than australia won. Even with the Hussey Siddle partnership. To fail to score 170 runs with 5 sessions and a decent batting track is just poor

that said
great game, well done to Australia for not giving up. Great to see hussey back in abit of form with a century too! One of my favourite players

How shit is the Pakistani batting line-up?

I only rate Yousuf and Umar Akmal out of that batting lineup, Pakistan bottled this one up IMO, not taking anything away from Australia but they thoroughly outplayed them for 3 continuous days. Their bowling is fine but their batting and the captaincy needs to change.

Yeah Umar Akmal looks a very good prospect. Didn't realise he was only 19!!

Typical Pakistan, no bollox...you just knew they were going to find a way to cock up an almost uncockupable situation, how the hell anyone can lose after bowling a side out for 127 first innings is beyond me.....of course Australia will get all the hype blah blah but Pakistan gifted that match to them, it was almost as if they really didnt want to win and since day 1 were trying to find ways of losing.

Shocking.

Well being English I can well understand the 'snatching defeat from the jaws of victory' ethos !

...but that was a colossal defeat by Pakistan - How in the world did they manage to not win and lose that !?!

That was such a ludicrous turnaround. I think the side will be 'looked' into shall we say

Lets just say had a few 'bets' been handily placed it could have paid out big big numbers there

I'm not saying that is the case but after that would anybody be surprised :nervous:

After the first day, If I remember correctly, Australia's odds lengthened massively (obviously). You be laughing to get odds then of ~$5.20+ for an Aussie win.

Kamran Akmal dropped for the 3rd test in Hobart, and rightly so! Most spasticated performance behind the stumps I've seen a while. Any others that don't deserve to be there? Why is Iqbal batting at #3?!

With regard Australia's side - given that Katich is still not fit I hope Hughes keeps his spot as we need to get more youth in our side. Despite his bad form I think he is still going to be a very good player in the future. North should also given one more chance. So IMO, no changes needed.

I would keep Akmal, but as a pure batsman instead of Farhat. Then recall Younis and replace Misbah, make Afridi come out of retirement and play him instead of Iqbal.

Kamran, Butt, Younis, Yousuf, Umar Akmal, Afridi, Aamer, Ajmal/Kaneria, Gul, Asif

I just noticed that I have only 10 players. Give a chance to someone else in the middle order or something.

Also, North is fantastic and shouldn't be axed after a few bad matches.

Conversely, people in Asia would have been putting their houses/wives/children on a Pakistani win at the end of day 3.

Don't underestimate how poor your standard Pakistani cricketer is compared to the average middle class Joe. Even with 'win bonuses' and central contracts.

Yeah Im a fan of North. He offers a bit with the ball but given Hauritz' excellent form he has not been given much of a chance. Siddle is also coming under fire.. for what reason I've no idea. People over here are hard to please!
