Australia v Sri Lanka

Could well be. Thats probably the most chance of the Aussies getting beat. New Zealand/South Africa/England are nowhere near Australia.

i think we've proved they're beatable.

3 times in a row and then (before our collapse  ) we made their fielding look pretty dodgy.

Yeah but this is a major competition that means more to them than that series a couple of months ago. They wont take their foot of the gas this time. (I doubt)

australia never take their foot off the gas where england's involved.

Well there run of bad results came straight after their coach Buchanan said they felt they wer'nt being tested and just wanted the World cup to start. Suggesting to me SUBCONCIOUSLY they may have taken their minds off that series.

Sri lanka 29-3 after 8 overs. I'd hate to see them when they haven't taken their foot off the accelerator.

Sri Lanka have some 150 odd for 3 after 33 overs or something. I won't be watching this game though -- they've rested Murali, Vaas and Malinga. cnuts

 in such a big game?

they're going to pay for that.

195-8

They could've moved up to 2nd if they'd won this game. But that doesn't make a difference to the semis game because it'll be 2nd v 3rd. It'd still be the same fixture.

They've got a good lead on any team that'll finish 4th(S Africa or MAYBE England) in terms of net run rate. Even if S Africa or England manage to push up their net run rate, Sri Lanka have a game in hand against Ireland which they should see home easily.

I guess they're basically throwing this game so that they'll have the element of surprise if they meet next(which they most probably will). If that's what it is, I'd say it's smart thinking.

Fernando keeps his line, and there's only a single apiece. His hairstyle is unique in this World Cup - like a coal-black version of the bleached effort sported by Judith Chalmers in her heyday

The BBC Commentary.:wenger:

Terrible batting by the top order and thought Bracken bowled brilliantly. That total wasn't enough for the bowlers, you need to get more than 280 if you are to have a go at the aussies.

Very shrewd decision to rest their frontline bowlers until the final (that is if they beat us first). Especially Malinga who they haven't seen much of recently. I would hate to imagine the criticism they will get if they did win for bringing the game into disrepute though.
