Starts in half an hour.
Oram's out for us.
If we win by a large margin we might finish first in the super eight and thus play SA in the semis, although that looks unlikely.

You can't finish first, would have to win by a really big margin like 250 run plus even then it may not be enough

Australia bat first on a good batting pitch.

Franklin gets Gilchrist for 1 after a crap ball and an equally crap shot.

174/2 in 27 overs.

This'll end up at around 350.

Love the optimism in this thread... completely misguided mind. Australia to finish on about 320 I reckon. Probably bowl out the kiwis for 240ish

Symonds out.

I don't think 320 is on the cards anymore.

They don't stand a chance without Oram and Bond. Still hope they win the WC.

They were purposely rested today to save them for the final as our trump card that will see us defeat Australia in the face of adversity and see us win the prestigous world cup. mwahahahahaha.

I don't think you'll get past Sri Lanka.

I don't understand why the Aussies are not resting anyone in any game. I think that's going to bite them in the back.

You will not make 300. Mark my words. And this is all a big act if you hadn't noticed. We will embarrass you Australians in the final when it counts. Second place is still a good achievement though, don't feel too disheartened.

I personally think the Proteas might defeat Australia as well. What a crap final that would be.

I think S Africa v Sri Lanka would be a great final. Aussie batting line up is too strong for the Lankan bowling. I'd like to see S Africa v Sri Lanka.

And does Watson never get tired of that shot? He tries it every over.

I'd love to see him try that shot to Bond. He'd probaly get one straight to the helmet. And a full strength NZ attack (Bond, Franklin, Patel, Vettori, Oram, Styris, Macca) can match the Aussie batting lineup. The Aussies are scared shitless of Bond.

I disagree. Bond's the only problem but Australia have like 7 world-class batsmen.

Hussey's gone -- bit of a shit innings by him I thought.. lacked confidence. He didn't even go for any 4 or 6 till that ball from which he got out.

Watson 6 just as I type this.

Firstly, you have the prediction skills of a slice of watermelon. Secondly, I'm not an Aussie, I'm Irish, but we're already out, and Australia are a pleasure to watch in full flow, when you're a neutral.

It was the umpires fault. My predictions are based on a fair umpire that makes fair decisions.

Btw well done Ireland, you did bloody well. You actually have some talented crickets in your team as well, I look forward to watching your progress over the next few years.

We just have to hope they don't all get poached by the English... apparently they already have ideas about Niall O'Brien.

Looking forward to this NZ innings. They're going to have to come out swinging!
