Any of the older Cafites remember this?

Forget the newer ones that were released in recent years, who used to enjoy the old series?

Series 1 and 2 are on Virgin's On Demand service at the moment and I've just finished both series. The acting was quite bad, music was hilarious and quality in general was quite shite. But I was addicted to it and couldn't stop watching.

I still can't come to conclusion to whether it was really crap or really good though  :nervous:

I liked it. :) I remember that I'd never heard a Geordie accent until I watched it, and had to guess what Oz was on about when he received some flowers while in hospital:

"FLOOOOOERS!!!"

:D

Haha I love Oz! He's the stereotypical working class "lad" isn't he?

Bomber is my favourite character though - his Bristolian accent cracks me up  And then there's Barry the Brummy, he's funny as feck!

I thought it was great! :D
Properly launched the very successful career of Timothy Spall too if I remember correctly !

Both my parents are Geordies and as a result, pretty much all of my family, so I grew up with it and have seen it so many times - I assumed everybody had seen it. 1st series is great, 2nd good then they go a bit rubbish.

Yep that's right, he's done very well out of it. Actually, most of them have had decent careers afterwards except Wayne and Bomber who both sadly died (Wayne was a heroin addict and lead singer of a Glam Rock band in real life).

Remember the first episode when they were going to Germany and were checked by Customs, one of the Customs Officers asked what a water level was, Dennis holds it against a wall and the Customs Officer asks what does that mean and Dennis answers that your wall isn't straight, classic series with some brilliant characters.
