Hi I'm doing a project on the effect of the NHL lockout on the hospitality industry in North America and I hope you can help me out with this survey

1) Which city are you from
2) Which team(s) are you supporting
3) Do you usually watch games at home? restaurant/sports bars?
4) If the Answer in Q3 is 'restaurant/sports bars', which ones do you usually go to? and how much do you usually spend per visit?
5) Did you visit the restaurant/sports bars for other sport events (NBA, NFL, MLB) during the lockout?
6) Would you travel to another city to watch your team play? And what would be your budget?

thanks a million

There you go, if that is any help to you...

Jacqueline the fabled Manchester Storm were the local hockey team in Manchester that started in 95 and in it's history posted attendance figures of over 17,000 on occasion. They were sold to different owners on a couple of occasions and in the end went out of business. The Manchester Phoenix took over the role of local hockey club, but the support wasn't good enough to make the team viable in a 17,000+ arena. They pulled out of the league 2 seasons ago, but will be coming back in a temporary building holding just over 2500 next season.

For reference purposes Dave Morrison who was recently made "Director of Amateur Scouting" for the Leafs, captained the Storm to league success in 98/99. Kurt Kleinendorst, coached the team that year, went on to be assistant at New Jersey, but was then transfered to special assignment scout for the Devils. Frank Pietrangelo, was the netminder for the 98/99 season, he had previously won the SC with the Pens, earlier in his career. Final roster mention that you may be aware of for the Storm, was a short but entertaining 15 game stint by Doug Doull, who later went to play for Boston the season prior to the lock out and had a couple of games with Washington this past season.

Thanks Tribec.
great connection b/w the Leafs and the Storm hehe...

Well Jacqueline_S, since I'm from Canada I can actually answer your questions, so here I go:

1) Which city are you from? Orillia, Ontario, Canada (1 hour north of Toronto)
2) Which team(s) are you supporting? The Toronto Maple Leafs
3) Do you usually watch games at home? restaurant/sports bars? I watch at Home and restaurants and sports bars plus I go to the 5-10 games a year.
4) If the Answer in Q3 is 'restaurant/sports bars', which ones do you usually go to? and how much do you usually spend per visit? In my hometown there are about ten places but I usually go to Boston Pizza (a restaurant and sports bar), but if I am in Toronto I go to Wayne Gretzky's Restaurant
5) Did you visit the restaurant/sports bars for other sport events (NBA, NFL, MLB) during the lockout? No
6) Would you travel to another city to watch your team play? And what would be your budget? I would and have travelled to other cities (Buffalo, Ottawa, and Pittsburgh) and my budget for the night is always around $100.

Hope that helps.

No, too rich for my blood. I go down to the ACC and buy tickets from the scalpers on the day of the game. They are usually cheaper than if you buy them at the box office because the scalpers buy them in packs of ten and get a discount.

BTW, the waiting list for the season's tickets aren't that long.
