Listening to the ABC today Jonathon Agnew (great commentator) said there will be no test match at OT in 09 and there will be a game in Wales. I missed all the conversation but Ii gues it will be in the Millenium.
Why no game at OT? is it being refurbished? or are the cnuts at the MCC denying us good northern folk a test match?

Can't be arsed Googling.

I thought Jonathon Agnew was at the BBC. Does he commentate always for ABC (Is it radio) or it just for the Ashes.

Anyway I hope its not true I went to the OT test in 05 ashes it was brilliant. But then again cricket is betting bigger in the UK the Millennium stadium hold over 70,000 and maybe they might have a test a Wembley with 90,000 cause it will have a roof know.

He does regular spots during the Ashes on ABC radio but I'm sure he's here most summers as a guest commentator. We also get Peter Roebuck, who now lives in NSW and is one of the best commentators.
We get the occaisional visit on TV from David Lloyd, who is also brilliant, plus some cnut called Botham.

Ended up Googling. It's not the Millenium but Glamorgan's Sophia Gardens that will host a Test in 09.

Plus I dont think the Welsh would like the English cricket team playing at the Millenium stadium

It's being extended. And is about to get Test status. As for Old Trafford. There are no concrete plans for redevelopment. But it's something that has been mooted. Will cost around £30m. Headingley needs a major facelife too. If they don't watch it, they'll both lose test status altogether, as Durham - Chester le Street and the Rose Ball are getting major overhauls.

I heard it was a done deal developing Lancashire to a new 20,000 seater stadium with various other leisure facilities.

I'm sure they're wanting to build a 30,000. Old Trafford's around 20,000 now. They're staying at Old Trafford, that's for sure and not moving to Wigan or Eastlands. But as of yet, they've not developed any plans. But I'm sure they will in the next few months. By this I mean something concrete.
