Okay, I'll start.......

Because of the embarrassing N Sync connection, I couldn't for the life of me turn on a Justin Timberlake record!

Nowadays, I decided to give him a go and found that actually, all N Sync stuff aside, he's a fairly interesting artist and entertainer

I once scoffed at Bob Dylan. But it turned out to be a piece of Blueberry Muffin that got caught in my throat.

Never liked coldplay when they released yellow but went on to not mind them I suppose, i'm with spammy though, once i've made up my mind there is no going back.

I've discovered a few bands recently that I never gave much time or thought to in my teens. Mainly because all new bands are shit, really shit and have nowt to say thats remotely interesting and therefore a lot of people my age (early/mid 20's) have gone back to the bands that meant something like Sonic Youth, Manic Street Preachers, Velvet Underground etc. Wouldn't say I scoffed at those bands before, just never gave them the time of day.

Oh I scoffed at Bjork back in the day, boy was I wrong. She's a genius.

I know that feeling completely, hardly any new bands really excite me anymore, I just assumed as i'm nearly 23 that i'm just getting old, I feel better knowing it is musics fault and not mine :)

Bjork was probably one I scoffed at, is she really that good?

Minnie Driver. I never liked her as an actress and then I heard she's bringing out an album. Heard one of her songs on the radio, I thought it was shit. Many months later I got her album, just out of sick curiosity, and I must admit it's brilliant. Her voice, the chilled out music, I was just impressed.

Yeah she's ace.

And well maybe you are getting old but I think that generally we're right, there's simply nowt good coming out at the moment. The music industry has died for a lot of reasons. I would say I havent been excited by a band since The Libertines first emerged. Unfortuntely, they have spawned a generation of skag trendy uber cool bands surrounded by 'buzz' and hype.

Embrace the past, thats what I say. Some great bands to be discovered in this lull. Sonic Youth's 'Daydream Nation' and 'Goo' im into right now. Makes you want to form a band and change the world.

I used to think 'Boards of Canada' were pretentious wank. Love their stuff now.

Nik Kershaw.

What he is known for is shit releases in the 80's that have ruined any chance of him ever being taken seriously.

A drummer friend of mine was praising the drumming on the (then) new Nik Kershaw albums "To Be Frank" and "15 Minutes". Surely he was joking, because he usually listens to drummers like Thomas Haake (Meshuggah) and Mark Portnoy (Dream Theater). You know, really outstanding drummers with valid reputations. I agreed to give them a listen, and I was prepared to take the piss out of him. I was wrong... both albums were very mature, well played, well produced and featured some outstanding songwriting.
However, it says Nik Kershaw on the cover.

That's interesting. First Chet, than this? Easy with all the good stuff man!

Nickelback are shit..................BUT, Chad Kroeger did manage to appear on one nice song featuring Carlos Santana, called, "In The Night". It's a good song, and I even don't mind Chad's crap voice in it
