Arsene Wenger never seems to miss putting down his opponents or talking of how great his side is. I used to think that was because he was just sour because of United's dominance, but he has never learnt from his past comments that have backfired in the past(eg. about the Arse going through the season unbeaten, etc.). However, despite being comprehensively outplayed by United on Saturday, Wenger refuses to accept that his sides are not the only contenders for the title. He has great visions of glory that do not really seem forthcoming in anyone's vision(with the exception of him). He has to realise that no one is likely to shut him up and he will, in all likeliness continue to make an idiot of himself, as he has done in the past. I fail to understand the reasoning behind his comments and how he is going to redeem himself when the comments backfire.....

Let our players get down to business to make him eat back his words! <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

he's talking through his arse.

The thing about it which really damages his image is that when Arsenal were winning, his comments were arrogant but at least had some basis in reality. Now he just comes across as stupid and desperate - sometimes his words sound more like he's trying to convince himself of the fact that the arse are still great, rather than the media.

It's pretty clear that result last weekend really got to him.

I agree wholeheartedly with the rattled comments by a poster. To be fair, Sir Alex has said some things that don`t befit a man of his intelligence but at least he is on record not a few times as praising other teams and commenting on their strengths.

Not just for mind games - although he has done that at times. Sir Alex has also given support to some managers who have been under pressure at their clubs and this shows the true measure of the man.

Arsene, however, can be a downright sulker and twit. Sir Alex does not lose with dignity all the time, but his way of being a sore loser is far preferable to the sulky, childish Arsene method.
