Turkey midfielder Emre Belozoglu remains a target for Arsenal, and could even complete a move to Highbury before the end of the World Cup, according to his representative.

The 21-year-old, who was little more than a reserve at Internazionale last season, was linked with a move to north London back in the Spring.

And his agent reckons that Emre's impressive performances in Turkey's progression to the quarter-finals in the Far East have tempted Arsene Wenger to up his interest.

Ahmet Bulut said: "Arsenal want Emre. They asked about his price before the World Cup.

"Inter said they wanted £11million but I think they will now want more because Emre has played so well at the World Cup.

"I will go to Italy soon to discuss the transfer. In 10 days I feel we will know where Emre will play next season."

Arsenal have a surfeit of midfield players, but with Robert Pires and Giovanni van Bronckhorst likely to miss the first few months of the season, left-footed Emre would be a handy acquisition.

They will never miss Pires or Ashley Cole again! :( (If they get him)
