I'm not sure on Hofland after his below par season but I think van Bommel would be great in the EPL. Are we missing out or do we not need this new Stam?

After Stam's problems and the problem the PSV staff have with Fergie - I think we've lost our 'PSV link-up scheme'.

Now onto Ajax?

The link never existed initially

Who cares about those two anyway?

If we get those we are chasing/need do you think those two will save Arse and Europe from our "wrath" that culminates in treble?

My thoughts exactly.

I like your positive thinking kemo. But to be honest I dont think I even know who is Arsenal's central midfielder except Vieira.

With van Bommel they'll be much stronger IMO.

Who *is* Arsenals central midfielder??? Grimandi the utility man?

they have played various differnt guys in there next to viera VAN BRONKHORST, PALOUR, GRIMANDI, etc etc. I agree with VAN BOMMEL they could be far better.

I reckon they would be more than far better, Excellent. Van Bommel is far more consistent and more creative than Viera and would easily adjust into the Prem, going from the few games I have seen him play. Especially like some of his passing around the box, top notch.

Yep, if Vieira stays, van Bommel will add to their great football. He is a world away from the likes of Grimandi.

Its quite incredible what Arsenal have achieved with relatively small name players, such great attacking flowing football with two pretty defensive mids.

Thats the effect a link-up man can have. We depend on our central mid to provide that link up but thats too much. With a full fledged link-up man (i.e. Bergkamp) things would be much easier for all parties.

van bommel/vieira would be an amazing midfield duo, but hofland is shite.

Which of the several hundred suggested so far over the last weeks are you talking about. Vieira and Van Bommel sounds as solid as it could possibly get.

We are ahead of Vieira with Keano but his current complements don't fit as nicely as those two do. :(

Well if van Bommel and Hofland would cost 12 and 10 million, 22 million altogether, then lets sell Veron for 30 Mill. after his excellent WC, and buy them both plus Di Canio for 2.5 mill. and van de Meyde for 4 mill. and we will still get +1.5 for 4 players of awesome quality, minus 1 world class talent who couldn't perform. Then may be we can get R.Carlos and Thuram for a combined 40 mill. (then that's 38.5 mill. in the red which isn't so bad) and we'll have 6 kick arse players for the price of a Crespo!!! Wow! you wouldn't believe what some crack can do to your brain!!!
