Are you not entertained?

Gladiator's a decent movie and all, but the first DVD I ever bought(at a whooping £25 as well) is good enough for me since I doubt I'll ever really rewatch it.

But the fact that Paramount are doing this exchange thing and listening to consumers is brilliant, they did the same with Saving Private Ryan as well as the Godfather, both of which I had faulty versions of. Good on them.

Good film. But I wouldn't watch it again, or buy it again, for that matter just to see it in better quality.

It's the content of the film that matters, not the picture quality.

I'm pretty certain he was being sarcastic since it's a monster difference, first image is barely any better than a upscaled DVD.

But I doubt Ridley would have used shit camera's either, and it was produced by Dreamworks, so they probably used the best shit available to them.

It's got a blue tint. . .and doesn't look significantly sharper, in fact it appears to be more blurred in some areas.

actually it's better, the hairs are more defined on the new BR pic. Must say overall BR looks to be a missed opportunity. Red Dreams was right.

The cameras they used to film the movie were super-shit, nothing can turn the quality around. But they did the best they could do this time.

Well I suppose if they've tried their best I can't really complain. Good effort lads.

Never had the original blu ray but that looks to be a significant improvement if the images are accurate. You can actually see the grain structure in the new image, the old image is a pixelated mess, the colours also look more detailed. The blue tint is no doubt intended given the beige and oranges that make up most of the landscape.

i'll definitely buy it when it comes down in price, I like a bit of Gladiator.
