Fecking madness if its true...

its not my money so pay him what he wants. If we got a season and a hlaf out of him it would be brilliant investment because he is a special player.

Who is your current highest paid player?

i personally think its bullshit beacause its from the papers but i think £80,000 a week for any 34-year old player is too much.

i say no!

I think he'd be an ideal short term solution, before we go for a high-reputation young striker (CISSE) in the summer.

But £80,000 per week!?

for a SHORT term solution I think it would be a good inventment, but no way would I want him to be earning £80k a week.

Some West Ham fan on Talksport was just saying that for scoring, 1st and 2nd assist of all goals in the last 2 years PDC has had 85% of 'em. Impressive!

Sums it up nicely!

there are`nt many others around ....80k is as usual paper talk , but if he has even half the impact that The King had he`ll do me

coulda gotten litmanen from you lot free and paid him less i'd imagine? shame

We need a young hungry striker who´s extremely pacey so I don´t want DiCanio at OT. We also need a winger with great speed (like Kan-Kan) as Giggsy´s often injured and Beck´s needs a rest now and then. I don´t see why we need another fullback though(Escude) as we already have the Nevs, Brown, Silvestre, O´Shea and possibly young Pugh.

I think Becks and Keano make about the same every week when you factor in the image rights part of Becks' new contract.

I just remembered though, that he might not come, because last year he went public and said that the reason we didn't buy him was not the price, but because he snubbed us. And knowing Fergie...
That said, I'd still like him to come. It could also help our youn strikers develop, and speed up Ruud's development(just like O'Shea and hopefully Brown learned from Blanc) Everybody could learn from Di Canio!

Because only Silvestre is a real left back. Phil's better on the left, I believe Pugh plays mostly in midfield while O'Shea may be able to play left back but his present and future is in the center.

i thought beck was the highest paid? are you excluding the image rights from the wages paid? Coz keane doesn't seem to be getting this sort of money, does he?

I remember Keano wanting 80K a week + no player can go above him. If somebody did go above him, then his wage would automaticly increase above that person. I might be wrong though.

they kept beck's basic wage below keano, but with the image rights i think beck is getting more..

although i'm sure keane made huge money from his book that would put him on level terms with becks.

tierney has been making the senior bench quite a bit lately so hopefully he'll provide some quality depth in defense.

If he can score a few goals for Man Utd like he did against chelsea, i dont see anything with him earning 80 000 a week

I don`t care what Paolo earns as long as he does the business for us. To buy him would be a real coup - the man is eccentric and a real character, furthermore he can put the wind up any defence.

He can demoralise defences with his brilliance and if his energy is harnessed correctly, he will be a fantastic investment for a couple of years. He has matchwinning ability, experience and he would also be fantastic in Europe, Don`t forget the man`s vast experience.

Paolo For Manchester United!

why on earth would we pay him 80000 a week if what he is after from westham is 40000-a-week for two seasons.
if he is after an OT contract he'll settle for much less, as playing in the CL is somewhat more attractive than playing massive fixtures in worthless cup.

You have a VERY short memory - Edward Sheringham was `too old, too slow` and look at his track record both in the Premiership and Europe.

PDC would just be a panic buy and £80k per week is madness. If he comes than Fergie really will have lost his marbles. People are posting that if we get a good season and a half from him it'll be worth the money but what if we buy Ronadinho in the summer, where does that leave PDC and if we do get PDC where does that leave Ole/Seba, cos when Keanos back Seba will be moved left or right(where he has shown how inafective he is on numerous occasions). I just think now is the ideal time to give the fringe players a chance like Webber/Davis etc, throw them in and see what they can do. If they sink then nothing ventured nothing gained but if they succeed then we've a new set of HUNGRY stars on our hands plus it saves us money that can be used in the summer for a top class striker and defender. SAF is talking up Tierney at LB saying he's a great prospect and then in the next breath talking about Escude/Burdisso, whats the point of bringing players through if we dont give them a chance? We'll end up like Chelsea/Leeds trying to buy success and it wont work. Our most succsessful periods have always been when we've brought through our young players so why try and change it now.
