I would quite like one, how much generally are they? and how fast etc are they.

(I dont know much about them other than that I have used one for a bit and really liked it)

Mac's are quite expensive, they cost around the same price as high-end Sony/Toshiba PC's & Laptops. They're worth every penny though in my honest opinion. The cheapest one available at the moment is the MacBook (£699), however, a new model is due around October, so the price might drop £50 or so. I've got 4 gigs of RAM in mine, so it runs very fast, the only slow-downs i get, is when i'm running 2 or 3 programs, plus Windows Vista in BootCamp, but it's still not very noticeable, which is very impressive.

I got my Mac in January, im very impressed with it, no problems whatsoever. The operating system is superior to Vista imo. Don't fall for the common "Mac's aren't compatible with......" It's a myth, absolute bollox; the majority of software available for PC's are also available for Mac's, if you do find a program that isn't compatible, just boot up Vista/XP on the Mac and run it that way, best of both worlds. I'll only buy a PC again if Microsoft improve their OS.

they are by far the superior system. I run the odd music program like pro tools etc and on mac they run brilliantly but transfer that over to good old windows xp and your in for a serious amount of heartache

The drawback being they are overpriced :(

Custom build one on their site and see what a rip off they are, they charge you something like 5 grand to up the memory to 32gb

If your after a comptuer that will do all your basics then am ac is a good option and your unlikely to feck it up like you would a PC. Ram is easily bought of Ebay (kingston official apple stuff), 150 bux for 2 gig or 4 gig or something.

I bought one for my girlfriend for her 21st, she loves it and they are so plug and play its not funny. The only thing i dont like is the game compatibility but it has football manager and thats the only game i play on PC these days anyway.
