Just put this on for the first time in years, what a great album, you forget just how good it was/is.

They (Guns & Roses if you don't know) never did reach the heights that they achieved on this album ever again, mainly due to Axl Rose's insanely large ego.

A masterpiece of an album with no bad tunes really, and one that captured the feeling in that time of the youth, a bit like Nirvana did. This alone will forever leave it in the pantheons of great albums.

Discuss.

None of you cnuts have any taste

Mr Brownstone just came on, great tune.

Great band, great album and

Looks like she's had a Slash..........

'Appetite for Destruction' is one of my all time favourite albums. I love their other albums as well but 'Appetite' was certainly their best. Slash will forever be my favourite guitarist.

I agree with your comparison with Nirvana. Without a doubt, GNR's brand of rock is significantly different to grunge, but I reckon the emergence of Guns N Roses signalled that popular music was beginning to change in the late 80s/early 90s. Their debut album was raw and differed greatly from the work of other well-known rock bands of the time such as Poison and Motley Crue.

Indeed, and thats what stood them out, the fact that they were so much different to what was around at that time, infact it basically signalled the end for the bands that you mentioned and many more too.

One of the coolest album covers of all time too.

One of my favourite albums.

I actually think that the rest of GNRs albums except for "the Spaghetti incident" are absolutely brilliant.

i've listened to 3 songs off that album (paradise city, sweet child o' mine, welcome to the jungle), and those 3 rock my socks. i'm gonna download the album now and have a proper listen

3 of the best songs on the album along with Nightrain and Mr Brownstone.

Its a shame though that Axl turned out be such a weird cnut. The only decent thing Gnr got right. Excellent album.

ok, i listened to it, i have to say, its such an awesome album. its so much better than most, if not all, of the indie and emo shit out at the moment

It's definitely much better than all the emo stuff at the moment
