"Madness in the Fast Lane" on BBC

some nutters running in front of and getting hit by lorrys and cars on a motorway, how they didnt die, god knows

Documentary revealing the shocking and sad story of two Swedish sisters, filmed by the BBC running into oncoming traffic on the M6 in 2008, and the chilling events that unfolded over the next 72 hours during which one of them stabbed a man to death.

This is weird because i remember a thread being made on here ages ago showing just the video of them running out infront of the cars and yelling about having their organs taken.

I had no idea that she then killed a guy and is in prison for 5 years.

I'm sure I saw the first part of the story on a "police, camera, whatever" style programme a couple of years ago. They showed the officers arriving at the scene and dealing with them then saying it looked like they'd been on something dodgy. Didn't know anything else happened - will check it out.

I knew I had heard about this before! I must have saw it as well on police, camera, action.

I'd have locked them up for a decent length of time, the selfish bitches.

Same here, off to watch the iPlayer now.

I watched it last night...really strange...

At least we know its possible to survive going under the wheels of a lorry and getting hit by a car, both at motorway speeds.

Does that mean we can drive faster on the roads knowing that we aren't likely to kill anyone.

(Sorry that last bit was a bit sick...:nervous:)

Cheers for getting me to watch this last night. I spent a good 2 hours trying to get to sleep, after having her wide eyed, glazed over stare engraved on my mind.

Also how did she survive falling 40 feet into traffic? Why make the crazy ones lucky?

Yeah, surviving a 40' fall and getting run over on the motorway three times in three days. The whole story is bizarre - you'd think it too far-fetched if it were in a film.

Personally I think they both should have been charged with endangering public safety (as well as assaulting police officers and trespass on the motorway) and served much more than 1 day in custody for it. The people they stepped in front of on the motorway could have been killed too.

You have to love psychiatrists like the one in the programme. Getting paid massive wages to essentially give a name to a condition which may or may not have any scientific validity and that cannot be proven or disproven but conveniently describes the exact, inexplicable actions of a person with a nice caveat of "it may reoccur, it may not". All very helpful.

I'm curious, seeing as her 5 years is almost up...they just going to set her loose on the public again because these 'psychiatrists' still can't determine whether she's loopy or not?

Yep. Crazy isn't it.

Thanks for that video van/biscuit. Possibly the most bizarre story I've ever seen.

Just watched it on iplayer and what a nutter , the sister was no better.
What is strange is you never really found out why they was in the UK and what they was doing going to London.
Was there something in there bags that they got rid off?
There is a bigger untold story there yet.

Well they still had the bags when they were on the motorway and the Police searched them, but they may have got rid of whatever was in them.

Yeah.

So, if you see blonde Swedish twins you'll all need to fight those natural instincts and run away from them

Well thats what I think , they must of got rid of something , that they did not want to be found.
If you was on a coach going to London and got kicked off because the driver did not like the look of you , you would kick off big time not just get off.
Why did they not get the Police?
When they saw the Police ,thats when they went crazy , maybe they thought that the Police had found what they might of dumped.
To be they way those two were and not have any drugs of alchol in your system , they must of been very very scared.
Also whay was the sister not question after she was realased from hospital and she did not go back to Ireland ,where they was both living, but went to the States.

Or batshit crazy. One of them (I forget which) was shouting about the police (who she didn't believe were police) were going to steal their organs. That, coupled with their refusal to believe they really were the police, her sister's bizarre acceptance of her arrest and complete lack of concern for her sister, coupled with stabbing a random bloke and hitting herself in the head with a hammer... That sounds pretty disturbed to me, if she wasn't on any substance at the time, she's got some serious mental issues.

Yep, the paranoia is a dead giveaway that they were suffering from some form of mental disorder.

The truly bizarre thing for me is that it only semmed to occur when they decided to meet up. Almost like it was lying dormant until they came into contact with each other. Spooky twin shit.
