TO ANYONE GOING TO EURO 2012...
We received this message...

Hi!

I live in Ukraine, and I know that some United fans are going to visit for Euro2012. So, if they're in Kyiv and want a tour or they have questions about the city, they can contact me via PM or twitter (@worldisred). I don't know for sure, but I think I can help with finding a place to live for a few days too.

Thanks!

It's Shevchenko continuing to try and prove how 'nice' and non-racist the Ukrainians are.

Great gesture. Sadly, I'm not going to the Euros. Now somebody sort me out for 2014 in Brazil!

Perhaps if they can offer more information, contact numbers, itinerary, cost, and probably website it could help.

as it stands, it looks like some ukranian scam to lure hot brit chicks (is there a hot brit chick?) there and ... well... :D

I've been to Kiev twice to see United and it was absolutely barmy. Never, ever felt safe, always looking over my shoulder etc.

Their fans are nuts. Absolutely nuts. Trashed a pub we were in the night before we played them (the 4-2 game) and started burning cars/smashing them up. All you could hear was them chanting "Dinamo Hooligans"

Best trip ever tbf

People can contact me via PM here (nickname: hellsmith) or via twitter (@worldisred). I hardly plot "some Ukrainian scam", considering that I offer tours around the city free of charge for fellow United supporters, just to meet some interesting people from around the Europe (world?) who share some of my interests (Manchester United, for one). If you're at all interested, just contact me and we'll figure it out: when you come to Kyiv, when you're free, when I'm free, when I can show you the city and what you want to see.
Although, if you think that Ukraine is full of racists and you will "end up coming back in a coffin" (worst-case) or become a victim of "some Ukrainian scam" (best-case, I suppose?), you can always decline.

A kind offer. :)

We shouldn't be posting these things on the boards. None of us know this person from Adam, so if you contact this person it's completely on you. Nothing to do with Redcafe

I don't think we should be encouraging people to use unofficial services in a country like Ukraine, from the safety aspect and potentially getting ripped off

GB- serious question. Would this be different if it was a mains poster? A lot of us here know each other, or have talked online for a long time. I know a newbie making an offer like that is a risk, so I was just wondering what the attitude was towards mains posters.

Possibly it would be different, if the poster has been around for a few years. We just can't vouch for newbies

Godamnit I'm regretting sending him my bank details and passport now.

There's loads of places in Ukraine that do these types of tours, albeit for money.
