I dont think there are to many that can say without a doubt they feel we are going to do it. You get a kind of buzz when you TRULY believe it's going to happen and for me that buzz is just not there, it's more like a feeling of 'acceptance' combined with some 'hopefullness'...

Still, IMO being 'champions of europe' is better than being champions of england and i DO have a buzz about the champions league. :) :) :) :)

It's never over till the fat lady sings.

West ham could get a draw on Wednesday and we could beat the Arse at OT so you never know just yet.

Remember what happened in 1992.

You can't compare the two trophies really.

Winning the CL would mean you have beaten the best Europe has to offer, but one could argue if you don't finish top in your own league, you can't be the best in the continent.

I still believe we can do it. Liverpool still have to play Spurs and Arsenal have a London derby coming up, tho I do think this weekends defeats for Ipswich and Derby were crucial - I thought they would battle for there lives, but just died. Don't give up.

back in 68 we won the European Cup and finished second in the league...

interesting: city won the league(68), we won the EC.. this year City's won the league...will we win the CL..???

the signs are there

;)

I am sure that West Ham will get atleast one point from them, and we'll beat them for sure. But Poo also need to draw once and they seem all fired up these days

I have this sicko feeling that we will beat the Arses and hand the league to the BinDippers!

:( :( :(

Still it will make next year more interesting!

No they would finish one point ahead, they have to drop points somewhere else down the line.

Yeh, sure we can win.. But then dippers & arse have to stumble, very soon...

that's assuming the arse don't win a couple of games by 6-0 or something similar.

To answer the original question:

I believe we can win our last 3 Prem games but that could mean anything from 3rd place or 1st place so, the question should really be: do you think both the arse and poo will feck up in the next 3 weeks? My answer to that is nope, not both of them.

Yes United can win the league. I expect either West Ham or Bolton to earn a draw with Arsenal, a Tottenham win over Liverpool, and United to take 9 points from 3 final matches. This would give United the championship on goal differential over Arsenal. However, if Arsenal win the title, it would be better than the bin-dippers. I could live with this, only if United win the CL. Ending the season empty-handed, would be a complete disaster. But, the last time that happened (1998), the next season was very special.

sorry, mis-read DD's original question :o

I know what you mean about that "feeling" That's its going to go your way. I do have a feeling that there are more twists yet to come, and that Arse and Pool will both slip up by drawing before we play the Arse at OT. I also have a sneaky feeling in my boots that Forlan's first goal will be the winner V Arse. ( Mind you could just be I need new boots!)

Wouldn't it be amazing if goals from Sherinham and Cole caused Arse and Poo to drop points - just one draw apiece, and we beat Arse at OT, and as long as we beat Ipswich and Charlton, it will be our title.

But whatever - United are playing the kind of stuff that makes you want to watch and support them whether they win the league or not.

Fully agree

The kind of football we played yesterday and in some other great games this season is possible the best I've seen the team played - fantastic stuff! The way we ripped them apart for our second and third goal yesterday was superb

Has to be said - apart from the stupid mistakes earlier in the season, we've mainly played with a lot more style this year than we did last.

United have been a joy to watch this season..i'd say its the most exciting/stylish football i've ever seen United play..

Amen.

The fact that we've played poorly far too many times this season, yet are still in with a chance - although I don't think it'll come to anything - doesn't really say much for the other teams up there with us IMO.

True. You have to admit, if Pool won the title their fans can not say they have played as exciting football as us or the Arse.

I still believe we can do it, just need the Hammers and Spurs to do us a favour. After watching Martin Reusers goal bound header come off the post last night, just have a nasty feeling Arse have lady luck shining all over them. But the pressure is begininning to tell on them, I have never seen Wenger get down on his knees for anything.

Yup, that penalty with five minutes left against Spurs, and our injury problems make me think back to 97/98 when we won nowt.

Just reading these responses gives me the feeling that we are definately more hopefull than convinced of our success.

Oh well, it takes a bit of pressure off when we arnt expected to win...sometimes that can help but theres no way arsenal are going to screw up at this point, they may draw or lose to us, but they wont allow bolton or west ham or any other team stop them now.

I still think that Arsenal lack bottle, they WILL draw a game before we play them. Just that I don't see when the Scousers will draw - I don't want us to hand them the title!!

Rather Arse than Poo anytime!!

I think claims made against Arsenal ability to play under pressure is unfounded. Players may have come and gone, but in 1998 they won all their remaining games to clinch the title when we were all saying, "We'd rather have the points than the games in hand." But there is still a chance, a small one, but a chance.

I think we are going to win every game from here on in (hopefully in all comps). In a way the pressure is off us because we aren't now expected to win. I think that we can beat Arsenal and if we do then the last day could be interesting to say the least. I am still very hopeful of the double.

But I could be biased

Right I have to say, hand on heart, that I don't think we'll win the league. Stepping back and looking at the whole situation, with all 3 teams involved, their fixtures and how they are performing I just can't see any team slipping up.

The run-in is being hyped as the tightest and most exciting in years but really, I see the season's conclusion to be very predictable.

- Arsenal will win all their games except at Old Trafford where we'll beat them
- Liverpool will win all their games
- We will win all our games

- Arsenal win the league

There are nearly always twists in the tail near the end but really, I just can't see any happening! The boro defeat was the last slip any team will make in the run-in I'd say, and sadly it could turn out to be the decisive setback for us :( If we were going to falter you would expect it to be at Leeds and Chelsea, but now that we've won both games well, that boro loss is so bloody frustrating!!

Oh me of little faith perhaps, but I'm a pessimist anyway so you never know, anything could happen! But I would gladly see the Gooners win the title ahead of the scumpool - we're all agreed on that I'd say!

Seriously, I believe we are into the week that will see us come out as favourites for both the CL and the PL.

Leverkusen are there for the taking, we should try to kill the tie in one leg!!

West Ham are upto 7th and are playing very well at the moment, it's certainly not beyond them to take points off the recently below par Arsenal. They haven't looked good for a while now, but the opposition just couldn't take advantage.

Oh Teddy Teddy will do us a favour and break Scousers hearts once more.

It's all very possible and come the end of the week, we'd be top of the league with the Arse only having a game in hand...

Here's to a happy April!!

We've hit our stride right on time for the CL. Yes, we can still take the league, but obviously we need results in our favour. Glasgow, anyone?

we will win in Glasgow. I can't beleive that we are behind the scousers. the arses can only lose the title but since they are all fagots its possible. we acn still win, and we will

The same "no chance" that Scousers gave us away to Deportivo, Leeds & Chelsea?

It's possible, but I wouldn't put money on it! What, for both of them to slip up? Wishful thinking I would say! Although the weekend games were quite interesting - Liverpool's supporters shitting themselves before they got the goal and Arsenal not exactly looking good.

Winning the CL would mean you have beaten the best Europe has to offer, but one could argue if you don't finish top in your own league, you can't be the best in the continent

The Champions League is partly a knock-out competition. Like the FA Cup. If you win the FA Cup, does it mean you're the best team in England? Of course it doesn't.

The Premiership is the ultimate test. It's the single most reliable guide to the best club in England. To repeat a time-honoured but very true adage: "The Table doesn't lie."

Unless we win the League this year, we can hardly claim to be the best club in the land.

And lady luck shines on Arsenal as Cole clears Kanoute's shot from behind the goal line... Blind linesman doesn't give a goal.
