Anyone think we'll sign Di Cannio for this season?

After all, we were pretty close last season. With all this talk about 30 million for Rio, I'd be baffled if we couldn't pay for Di Cannio this season. Besides, he should be even cheaper now.

Doubt it. It was seen as a quick fix. I think Fergie will be looking longer term now.

Its a pity but I think that bus has left.....But IMO Di Canio is still the man to open up top teams...which we seem lacking in recent outings.....

Di Canio wants regular team football and I dont think Utd can guarantee him that..so I would be surprised if anything happened. ;)

I don't think we'll sign Di Canio. I think Fergie's long-term plans lie with Forlan in a similar role.

Yeah, but Fergie said that we need another striker in the United Mag. So who is it?

It would have been Ronaldinho if PSG would sell, otherwise its Lopez with Sorin in swap for Veron.

Could still be Ronaldhino - don't think Utd will bid until they sort out the Rio deal.

Honestly don't think Veron is going anywhere.

Let's hope not. Otherwise, you'll have to change your name.

Why is the focus only ever on one player. ex. DiCannio When there are few clubs who can afford the large transfers ( for the likes of Rio), why must we over pay? How good is Rio, honestly? Was he that good in the WC? Is he better than Nesta or Tudor? Two other young defenders. If Leeds need the money, who else will give them 30 million pounds.

Another reason why this deal looks stupid is the fact that Sol Campbell was thought to be to pricey. Too pricey? A free transfer with a 90000 a week wage package. It would takes 6 seasons for Campbell to earn the value of Rio's transfer. Thank God I'm not a share holder!

Just to add to the previous rant. Why was a player of Marc Wilmots ability not considered when the DiCannio tranfer fell through. IMO, he was one of the best players in the WC. I realize he is around 32, but he still seems quite usefull.

I for one still cannot understand the Sol Campbell non-bid. Especially after it was reported that our bid of 17 million pounds was rejected 1 or 2 seasons before???? So we reject him when he comes for free???

IMHO RVN and Ole should be United's starting pairing. The reason I went back to Di Cannio is that precisely becuase of his age, he will not mind being rotated, I think. Ronaldhino will want to be in the first 11 and I wouldn't want that at the expense of Ole.

As much as we all like Ole, I don't think that's a good reason for not signing Ronaldinho. Don't sign anyone too good becos that might put Ole's place under threat?

You're not seriuous, are you?

If we sign Ronaldinho, Ole would still get to play if he proves to be better.

<img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" /> WE DONT WANT DI CANIO HE IS GETTING OLD HOW WOULD HE HELP THE CLUB? Ole gunnar is way better and the fans love him leave him and van nistelrooy up there but cut yorke and swap veron for crespo or lopez or buy RONALDO! :D :D :D :D :D He is a class act!

Right guys?
