3-1 anyone.

I don't really remember, but just wanted to say that I always liked Remi Moses. Could be as good as Robbo on his day, but as BLOODY injury proned as Captain Marvel himself. :(

Absolutely ! Barnes put Pool ahead after about 20 mins. 0-1 to them at half time. Stunning second half started by Chocky with a brilliant overhead effort to equalise. Then Hughes, I think, to put us ahead and finally Russell Beardsmore with the third.

remember.. 1985 FA Cup semi replay vs the gypsies????

FA Cup Semi-Final Replay
17th April 1985 Maine Road
Manchester United 2 Liverpool 1

Robson, Hughes

The first semi-final had finished in uproar at Goodison Park. A disputed last minute Liverpool equalizer from Paul Walsh made it 2-2 but the linesman flagged the goal as offside - the referee somehow managed to totally ignore him. In the return four days later it looked like curtains for United when Paul McGrath scored an own goal in the 1st Half. United stormed back in the second half and it was captain Bryan Robson who led the way in the 47th minute. Running from the half-way line he had a group of Liverpool players on his back, just when it looked like he would be caught, Robbo unleashed a stunning 30 yard drive into the top corner past Grobbelaar - a truly spectacular goal. Twelve minutes later with the game on a knife edge, a Gordon Strachen pass put Mark Hughes through on goal. He beat the offside trap and slammed the ball home to give United the lead. The following minutes were tense but United held out to make it to Wembley.

both our goals were top drawer, especially robbo's 25 yarder <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

anyway, we'll win tomorrow, either 2-1 or by two clear goals! ;)

fecking very happy days the late seventies/ eighties.

One of a number of semi-finals against Looneypool where we fecking outclassed the bastards.

'79 fondly remembered as well.

Fondly remember '85 when the 1-2 between Sparky and Strachan brought Sparky reigning down on goal. There was only one outcome that season. Net breaker. Wasnt his goal a half volley from about 20 yards as well?

Then Big Fat Ron sold him, and we never forgave him.

To quote a United fan in 1988 when the prodigal returned (to Alex's eternal tribute)

"The happiest day of my fecking life"

Giggzy;

kinell mate......

the memories are flooding back....

fecking happy days them personally and footballwise. Youth!

We were shite but we would always come right at one point in the season. And it still glows.

yep, it was a 20 yarder!

and ron was a wanker for selling him, Sparky didn't want to go, but Ron didn't like his quiet (non drinking) personality hence he sold him to Barca......

Bad memory
I remember being at Anfield when we played in that blue checked kit.
The thing that sticks in my memory is that although we lost 4-0 we played okay but mainly
all you could hear was United fans singing there heads off I couldn't talk for three days.
What year was that ???
Another game that I remember at Anfield is when we were 3-1 down with 10 men and came back to draw 3-3 I remember Strachan Popping the equaliser in and smoking the imaginary cigar.

September 1990.

Remember it well.

4 'kin 0.

We all thought Denis was going to be shite, but he just had a really poor game against Barnes.
