Just got mine and quite frankly abit lost with the ins and outs of it.

Ive got the new slim n lite or whatever its called with 5 games:
  • God of war
  • Final fantasy 7: Crisis core
  • Lumines 2
  • Patapon
  • Tekken Dark ressurection

Firstly what other obvious must-haves ave I missed out on?

And secondly how do I download shitty games I dont want to pay for but am tempted to try out? (i.e. games by EA)

Cheers.

I've got one, wish I'd never bothered now because I never use it. It would be good if I could do the whole downloading games thing but that would involve buying a bigger memory card, and I'm broke.

I have one, dont use it much anymore though as well. The Grand Theft Auto games and Tekken are decent though. I also liked Pursuit Force though it may not be for everyone.

It becomes very usefull when on holiday. Most hotels have WiFi now for free, you can access all of your stuff, music, video...

Games need to support it, which I think they all will from now on. Too laggy IMO though.

brought one on release day and had a lot of emulators on it for a long while as i didn't really fancy any of the games on it, that was pretty fun playing classic snes and megadrive games, soon got bored of it though and after i'd done the GTAs it never got played and just sat in a drawer until i got the PS3, i played around with remote play and syncing the 2 machines but it didn't do a lot for me (possibly becuase the PS3 had no decent games for so long) i then got a good cash offer for it and sold it.

I was never really too fond of it tbh, played for long periods it could cripple you it was so badly designed (imo) once i brought my DS it became obselete from a gaming POV

I was thinking of buying another one though, not sure why. i seem to feel i should/need to own this sort of thing even if i never use it?-anyone else get that feeling for technology?

Mine was left in a draw for a while but I have recently got back into it. I like to sit outside at lunch, now its (kind of) summer and play on it.

I like lego star wars 2, loco roco, lumines2, PES.

Anyone played God of War on PSP?

Anyone know where I can get a replacement screen for a slim PSP (other than eBay), dropped my PSP earlier and the screens wrecked.

I tried Echocrome t'other day. Genius idea. Less genius is the poor execution of said genius idea.

Ok so I downloaded firmware 1.50.

Whats the next step?

God of War is frickin awesome too! Didnt think id say this but bring on God of War 3!

Do you mean your psp is now 1.5, or youve just got fw 1.5? not sure if its that simple to just install it, might need pandorras battery. check this thread

Great looking link thanks!

But a few questions

1) What this installing this software or 'bricking' offer my PSP?

2) It says it doesnt work for 4GB+ memory sticks, well my memory stick is 4gb (well 3.8 to be precise), does that mean it doesnt apply for me :( ?

how does the remote play work, surely the PS3 would have to be turned on while you do it, which is a bit of a waste of electricity if you leave it on for a week while on holiday

1) Installing custom firmware lets you download games and play them! a few other features as well, but thats the main one. you dont want to brick your psp, that means the firmware is messed up and takes a considerable amount of work to get working!

2) not sure, there might be ways to get around it, poss ask on the site. make sure you submit what psp you have and the current fw

Basically this is how it works. Firstly you have to downgrade your psp to 1.5 firmware, then upgrade it to a customer firmware (created by hackers). Then you just download and copy games to memory card, and play as normal.

Read this forum. Very helpful
