Leeds United have placed Lee Bowyer on the transfer list after the £15million-rated midfielder turned down the offer of a new five-year contract.

The 25-year-old has been in talks with the club since December but, despite indications from Bowyer that he was eager to remain at Elland Road beyond next season, his decision not to sign a new deal is said to be ' a career move'.

I'm sure someone is. He didn't reject Leeds's offer for 'career reasons' without having a club informing his they want him. I wouldn't assume it's United thankfully - no point!

He is a quality player although he does have a temperament problem.
Top attitude to the game a real winner similar type of player to Keano at 25 (not as good though)
He was outstanding in last years C/L
No place for him at O/T we are well equiped in that area

I can't see him going abroad so that leaves about 3-4 clubs in England who would be an improvement on Leeds.

Arsenal - possible, they need a midfield partner for Vieira.

Chelsea - Petit hasn't been a success and he's better than Lampard.

Liverpool - has been linked for some time and we are looking to strengthen our midfield area.

Man Utd - don't need him.

The only other club I could imagine him going to would be Newcastle.

Arsenal don't need a midfield partner for Vieira, there midfield has Pires, Ljungberg and Parlour. Bowyer is not better than Lampard

It will be interesting where Bowyer ends up.....during the trial all PL clubs were asked by a newspaper if they would have him and they all said no.

I await with interest how opinions change amongst the Liverpool fans on here when he signs for them.

What's the asking price? 10p?

He doesn't play in the middle (much), so how he can be toded as a partner for Viera, or a replacement for Petit, I don't know.
Chelsea could want him. An Englishman - and they could play their great Dane on the left, and leave Zenden on the bench.

I don't know how to break this to you, but some players can play in a variety of positions - Gerrard and Parlour to name just two.
I mean it's not like Arsene Wenger to switch a player to a different position, is it?
Petit, Henry anyone?

I'm well aware of Arsenal's midfield but they had been looking for a long-term replacement for Petit for some time.

Grimandi(sp) and Parlour and have been used in that position to good effect but haven't really merged the same partnership as Vieira-Petit.

It seems Edu is doing a good job there now so it's possible he might make that position his own.

Lampard better than Bowyer, don't think so.
