We know the press have put Gaz in the frame but was just wondering if anyone had heard something about more concrete about this ?

Surely if it is to be a current player then they wouldn't take over in the middle of the season would they ?

Can't see him taking hold of the Ressies straight away, coach for a season or two and eventual Reserve manager, sure.

Solskjaer was coaching our players on their finishing and movement when he retired from playing IIRC. Maybe Neville will do a similar shift with the younger defenders.

Remember where you heard it first.

I reckon Warren Joyce will keep things ticking over until the end of the season, then a new permanent manager in the summer.

My bet would be Neville, but not till the summer when he'll probably call it a day on his playing career.

I would reckon Joyce til the end of the season, then maybe McGuinness in the summer, with Neville/Giggs/Scholes taking over the U18 side with the help of a more experienced coaching member to assist them.

My guess too would be Warren Joyce till the end of this season.

But it was mentioned that Solskjaer was made reserve manager in a combined set-up where Joyce was involved primarily too.
So any new addition would involve someone from within rather than outside.
Anyone think Queiroz as a possibility too?

nope - he is a possibility to come back to the club in some capacity, but not as reserve team boss. He would be a first team coach at least, if he did come back. I don't see Solskjaer leaving having any effect on whether CQ returns or not.

No, they looked like that. Check out Simon Davies and switch around the black and white (couldn't find a picture of the black one from a good angle). The red looks a little dark, though. Could be the light or something perhaps.

Looking at Forest's kit history they haven't had shorts like that. Plus their shirt for the years we had those shorts had a black line from the shoulder to the waist.

Ole was the first and if Gaz comes in, is this the new wave of millionaire player/coaches? Will they relate better to this new bling generation of players?

McGuiness would be a good shout, knows the lads in the reserves already and know whom is perhaps ready to step up.

Otherwise could well be Gaz. Sure who ever takes over will be alongside Joyce.

Surely McClair's in with a shout even if short term as he and Jim Ryan were the ones in charge before handing over to Ole a couple of years ago and he's obviously still at the club... Not much of a reason to bring someone new in really, we normally promote from within anyway. So could well be Paul McGuinness too as a step up from U'18's

Personally, I would class the U-18's and academy as more important that reserve manager. I don't think going from U-18's manager to reserves manager is a step up.

They are both important roles, one being to develop the players the other effectively a finishing school to prepare them for first team action. It may be something McGuinness might enjoy for a new challenge given the success he's had with the Academy.

Exactly.

I remember when McClair was in charge of the reserves... he did a great job and Fergie said that he was 'promoting' him to be in charge of the U18/Youth's a role Fergie said is vitally important to the club and a step up from reserve team manager...

McClair was promoted to head of the Academy and Youth Development - not to U18 Manager.

For McClair to take the Reserve team role would be a step down. McGuiness taking the role would probably be a step up for him.
