...or is this yet another Soccernet "rumor"

<a href="http://www.soccernet.com/england/news/2002/0310/20020310afcinterbid.html" target="_blank">Inter offer 100m quid for Arsenal trio</a>

The post also claims Scholes turned down a move to Inter for 31m quid. Scholes is a fantastic player, but if a team offers 30m or more, it becomes business sense to sell him. That money would buy 2 defenders without digging into the PLC transfer kitty. Nesta (20-25m) and Hofland (12-15m). So the PLC would use around 5-10m.

i know its alot of money but players like Scholesy, Butt, Giggs and co are reds for life.. they live and breathe United...it 'd be difficult to replace them.IMO.

Soccernet talk absolute shite.

But this Scholes rumour apparently has some substance to it - there were strong rumours last summer that Inter offered 30 million for Paul, but United flatly refused.

This Arsenal trio stuff is absolute bullshit. <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

I would be a shame if Scholes were to leave. IMO. I'd rather sell Veron and keep Scholes.
