"I've heard of a lot of bloody encounters outside Old Trafford (Mainly with people throwing crap onto the away fans coming out of the back off the bridge)

The police leave them to it, which to me is despicable.

At Anfield, the away fan is looked after the moment they arrive on the coaches.

In instances where trouble may occur, the away fans are escorted to safety.

Why the Manchester United stewards and the Manchester police can't extend that protection to away fans at Old Trafford is anyones guess?"

Does anyone know if this sort of stuff really happens?

I was involved in lots of "bloody encounters" in the 70s and 80s, any trouble now hardly compares.

i heard that WBA fans chanted 'Munich' (or did plane signs) at OT... and there was ruckus afterwards between some United and WBA fans...

feck knows if its true <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

There seems to be some debate as to whether it was intended giggzy. I guess, as with all chants, it starts with one person, the rest just follow, many not knowing what they're singing about. Whether or not this person intended it as a Munich chant is something you'll probably never know.
