dont want to turn this into a Veron bash..but...
the way the lads battled and fought for the 3 points today was impressive but i doubt we would have won if Veron was playing. Fortune and Scholes seem to have built up such a good understanding they ruled the midfield today.

I hope Veron doesnt start against Arsenal, the lads deserve to keep their places.
Bench Seba and keep him fresh for Deportivo

foriegners

Veron had flu my arse <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

Like he did against Leeds <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

and like he probably will have against the Arse <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

SAF knows that he cant cut it in games of this much passion and pace. Seba needs space to play. Give it to him and his class shines thru. Unfortunately its something of a luxury.

Will he still be here after January ?!?

I'm with GB all the way here. Why change the team? Because of reputations and seniority? I hope not.

i didnt. its well recognised that Veron wouldnt have got time to play in a match like that against Pool. Nor would he get that luxury against Arsenal.

I would like to see Veron at least on the bench against Arsenal, I expect it to be less congested than against the Scousers, it will be more of a European style game. Isn't Vierra banned for it?

Anyway, todays a day for celebration, I think we can all agree on that. With that level of determination & commitment we can beat anyone.

:D

No, Viera's not banned. Sol Campbell is though.

The FA have decided for some stupid reason that Yellow cards in the Charity Shield don't count but Red cards do. Why the double standard is anyones guess

Hopefully, that has to do with Vieira? Campbell is still banned, isn't he?

Campbells ban is from the red card against Southampton, Vieria would have been on 5 yellows if the Charity shield card would have counted

Veron's "flu" is definitely a bless in digust for us. When we beat Newcastle last week most people (except Murt) agreed we should keep up the winning team but deep in our heart we also know Fergie will restore Veron to the team if he's fit. However the pace and temper of liverpool's match is typical match which Veron just can't perform.

In match against Liverpool steel and passion can only be more important than skill and we all know those are the things Veron lacked the most.

feck the gallery Seba. This the game where you show your Euro form in a domestic setting. Believe. This guy can still be key to a glorious season.
Too much has been made of Veron's half-hearted? performance against the Bertie Magoo lazer blues. I for one thought Seba was the best payer on the field in the 1st 45 mins of the derby.
It may hurt, but ultimately we have bigger fish to fry than the liars. Ultimately, unlike the British tabloid press I can bite my tongue and live with Veron not quite being up to speed with the derby if it means he's a star for us in the European Cup and the big Prem games.

Veron hasn't been the star of any "big Prem games" before, so there is no reason why we should believe he will star in the future prem games, except for the fans who love Veron more than Manchester United.

Is there some kind of "clause"in Veron's contract that says he has to be in the squad if he is fit and able to play? I seem to remember this being mentioned on here at some time in the past.

I really don't believe that. That's purely stupid to have this clause in any player's contract in the world.
