We need in our team at this time, someone of a maverick and genius character like Paolo Di Canio. He is sublime in his touch and vision. And at Manchester United, surely he will have a very able supporting cast. He will have the same effect as the maverick we all love to death here at United, Eric the Red, the King, Eric Cantona. Paolo surely has another one or two years in his legs with the kind of fitness he has. During this time I am sure we will find the likes of Jimmy Davis and Danny Webber coming of age to support RVN and OGS.

what? are are these newbies serious? there is some really funny stuff being said in some topics....

what eric cantona did for manchester united is not something you can buy. players like him perform after they have been bought. and that's what is so amazing about them, the surprise. there is too much pressure on transfers these days (espcially with the price tag we end up paying) that anything LESS than cantona seems to be failure.

But, then, really, you will not disagree about the ability, the skill, the vision and the passion of Di Canio being too far from that of Cantona's. Ferguson always had the right feeling about him. And this time he has to really go forward with it.

Read "not too far" instead of "too far" up there.

kinda like blanc eh?

even two years ago i would probably have said he was too old. but now? plus he likes the hammers too much. by the time he became a red he'd be ready to retire...i say give the kids a chance now.

sometimes it seems like transfer talk only involves people reading the papers or internet sites, seeing someone they like, then coming here and saying we should buy them....maybe not, i read some post calling for crespo. ha, that buy sounds totally possible.

I realize that Di Canio will not come, though I personally felt that given the conditions at this time he would suited the bill perfectly. Blanc has done a great job too, although admittedly nothing close to the influence of Cantona. But, really, I wonder what you would have said if someone had said in November of 1992 that the player we needed was a certain Eric Cantona??

if cantona had been six years older my response would have been different...
