Andy Mitten: World Cup focus is on Manchester United stars, not England

For all that Mitten can be a useful conduit between the United grapevine and wider support, or some away fans and such, he is also a touch obsessed. The all-consuming existence of football support that i suspect he leans toward, really isn't something i'd feel comfortable with.

Furthermore, i object to the way in which he attempts to project his views of the international game on millions of people around the world, if Mitten intends on sitting in his lounge re-reading last season's match programmes that is solely his lookout.

Don't think he is speaking for millions of fans worldwide or in UK. He is speaking for match going or possible away match going fans specifically. I mixed with that group in European aways and majority of them could not give a hoot about England.

That is a fair point, particularly if he means the regulars at away matches i imagine.
