Couldn't see a thread but maybe I am going blind.

Completely deserved, what a great player he was for us and Newcastle.

This Hall of Fame thing is so funny and strange.

Just put everyone in you plan on putting in. Why this staggered induction?

It's a fictional hall. There's as much space as you like. There's no admin to hold up inductees. Because it's fictional. Somebody just invented it out of nowhere.

I’m old enough to just about remember the huge excitement of United signing him almost 30 years ago. He had an insane scoring record for Newcastle and it was a shock that they sold him to us. Apparently him and Keegan fell out.

He was part of an era where England had an embarrassment of riches for strikers, with him, Shearer, Owen, Sheringham, L Ferdinand, Fowler, Sutton, Wright all vying for two places most of the time.

If they did it that way lesser lights would be dwarfed by the stars superstars and not really get their moment in the spotlight, as opposed to how it is with a staggered release.

187 goals and only 1 penalty tells you how prolific he was.

Congrats @Andy_Cole!

Well deserved. Brilliant striker. It's often felt like he's been underrated over the years

Fantastic player. Totally underrated.

Even a few City lads who I worked with said they never rated him until he played for them. He may not have been prolific for them but they certainly could see he had more to his game than goals.

Fantastic player and servant to the club, was gutted when he left.

Little known fact...I fell out with someone who swore to me that Andy cole was coming to his wedding reception. I told him he was full of shit, and he kicked me out.

Twenty years since.

Anyway, I loved cole. He was great. Scored some mad goals.

One of my favourite players since being a supporter. Doesn’t get the credit he deserves in my opinion so very happy for him to get recognised by the league.

Oh yeah I remember him and Dwite Yorke. They were one of the best strike force in Europe back then.

One of my favourite ever players. I had a life size poster of him on my bedroom wall and my first ever United shirt had his name on the back.

Incredible goal scorer and part of one of our finest ever partnerships. Such a naturally intelligent footballer - he had an innate feel for not only space for himself, but space for his playing partner as well.

He definitely doesn’t get mentioned as much as he should when talking about the Premier League greats so I’m delighted to see him recognised here.

Hoddle said he needed 6 chances for every goal keegan preferred heskey which just goes to show England have had some truly shit managers

Delighted for Cole but Ryan Giggs' omission from the hall of fame is ridiculous, he is the most decorated player in Premier League history. John Terry's inclusion now makes a mockery of the suggestion that off the field behaviour is a factor.

They are pretty similar when you take away penalties. Not that much in it.
Shearer was clearly better. He could score such a variety of goals, big game player for England, and also played a good chunk of his team at a middling -barring a season or two- Newcastle. Cole was great and I'm a massive fan, but having Shearer at United in the 90s would've taken us to another level.

Used to bump into him once in a while at the renal transplant clinic, very humble and a true gentleman. Hall of fame recognition is absolutely deserved, good for you Andy.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Shearer was a better player. Would've loved him at United, as SAF would have/tried to sign him.

ANyway, on topic, fantastic news re Cole  What a partnership he and Yorke struck up top!

So pleased he’s got this recognition. I loved him when I was growing up. He was my favourite player.

Cole played with the best team in the country. Shearer did not
Cole won 5 leagues, 2 FA cups, 1 League Cup and won one Champions League.

Shearer won 1 league.

Cole showed more ambition, joined a great club. If you take away Shearer's penalties, their goal record is identical. Shearer was a better goalscorer but Cole was a better all around player. There's not much in it, Cole is very underrated.

One of the most underrated players this country has produced. Deserved.

He was my fave player along with Scholes from that classic team.
Never feel he got the credit he deserved because of that first dodgy season. He had numerous fantastic and high scoring seasons in a row, and along with Yorke made one of the best striking duo in Europe at that time.

Scored a lot of great goals as well as being a great goalscorer.

Cole played in a squad that was shitting assets left right and center. Shearer did not. Some people forget the amount of players SAF had tried to replace Cole with from Batistuta right to Shearer himself and finally RVN. I am not saying that Cole was shit. He was an excellent player. However there's a clear difference in terms of talent between Shearer and Cole.

Probably the one player I under appreciated more than any other when he played for us.

Uses to miss a hat full of chances nearly every game, but then when he wasnt there those chances just wouldnt happen.

Also used to crop up with a random goal of the season contender here and there.
