There's two facts everyone, even non-cricket/-football fans, know about them:

1. They're big-time pissheads

2. Their careers were blighted by injuries

How come they're always talked about as two separate points?

Since we're here, two amazing facts about Joey Barton:

1. He's a complete fecking wanker

2. He's always assaulting people and getting in trouble and going to prison.

Similarities aside, Flintoff is a small timer who enjoyed his sunshine for a while, not the case with Robbo.

Normally cricketers would call it a day from the shorter version whilst continue to play test cricket for passion whilst the retarded ones do the other way around. Through out his career he has had only handful of good series and also lacked the longetivity to label him as BPITWIBTW in any form of the game.

Flintoff doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence. He's a decent cricketer, at his best he's quality - but he's been far too inconsistent throughtout his career.

And in entirely unrelated news, he's also been on the beers throughout his career, which has, bizarrely, been blighted by injuries.

Sure, Spoons and Vijay, he's not as talented as Robbo or someone like Botham. But he has a good deal of talent and fantastic charisma/will to win/intensity. At his best, there's few bowlers in world cricket you'd less prefer to face. If he'd kept himself in shape, he could have had a terrific test career.

I've always thought he had the potential to be as good as Botham(who if we're being uber critical was only brilliant for a couple of seasons). I get the feeling Flintoff actually thinks he's all that - just look at his fecking celebrations. I'm not a fan of Pietersen but at least he's had a career to boast about, so for me, his arrogance isn't totally misplaced.

And you've got a lovely pair of earrings on.

I don't think he's half the batsman Botham was, which is the crucial difference. Both Flintoff and Pietersen are fecking morons, but I agree, Flintoff could have done with being a bit less arrogant or working harder to justify it, whereas Pietersen needs his, it's part of his make-up.

Leave my earrings out if this. Not to mention my make-up.

At his best Botham was a better bowler, too. But he played on pitches that assisted bowling.

And Pietersen's South African and they're all a bit cnutish - but at least they're natural at it.

What is this thread actually about?

Booze leading to Flintoff's injuries, or Flintoff being over-rated and Bryan Robson also a big drinker being injured and therefore similar to Freddie. feck me.

I think Flintoff at his best on 80s tracks is pretty close to Botham. It's just Botham at his best hit the heights more often, especially on tour. Freddie coming in with his gummel up is a fearsome sight, he can take out the big boys or he can hold the run rate to nothing.

Whereas Flintoff doesn't have anywhere near the batting talent of Botham.

It's about the fact that they both fecked their careers with booze. Robbo was still a great cos he was that good, imagine what he'd have been without the injuries.

To fair, you're probably right.

How many players of both football and cricket in the past lived on booze and had great careers?

I think Flintoff's injuries are much more down to the fact that he weighs about 2 tonnes and that slamming down at great speed on ones ankle/knee is bound to feck it.

But the point is true, without injuries both would have been much better - and that's saying something 'cos both are awesome anyway.

Aye, and why does he weigh about 2 tonnes?

Cos he's a fecking pisshead.

I'm not sure this thread is intended to be taken altogether seriously.

Melbo, I've never been more serious about anything in my life

This is absolute bollocks. Flintoff has not "fecked his career with booze".

No, you're right, sorry. He's just a player who loves the beers, and whose career also happens to have been blighted by injuries.

It's like Robbo. Who ever dislocated his shoulder with six pints of Guinness?
