An argentinian golfer wins the U.S. open championship

Ironic an Argentinian winner on the anniversary of the end of the Falklands conflict.

I'm not criticizing Cabrera... kudos to him. I just think that it's ludicrous that the winner posted a +5....

I prefer that to the winner making 20 under for a tournament. I want to feel that the course has been a real challenge, though not an unfair one - not sure how the US Open balanced there. Ideally I want my winner to average beating the course by 2 shots a day, and only an elite list of competitors, say 15-20, scoring under par

us open's probably the hardest course of the four majors. look what happened to mickelson. it happens, give cabrera some respect.

Cant say I watch golf but Anyone other then Tiger Wood is a plus for me. Dont get me wrong he is very talented but is just something I dont like about him. I saw that guy going back to Argentina, quiet a lot of people waiting to see him back. Dont think that would happen if some English guy won it, how popular is golf in Argentina?

not that big, but what you saw is Cabrera going to the small town where he was born and where he worked as a caddie

tiger's great, but just like federer it gets boring to see him win. that's why it's so exciting to see somebody like cabrera do it. it's what makes sports interesting.

I just think he is a bit weird somethings, properly due to the fact he is a perfectionist and he most have had a completely different up being compared to a normal person.

I agree the course should be difficult, but not ridiculous, which is what the US Open is becoming every year.

I kike the fact that it is a hard course. Makes things more unpredictable unlike Augusta where the same guys challenge for it most years.
