Amos out on loan

If Amos comes to Molde on loan, he will definitely be first choice keeper. I'm really excited about this, being a Molde supporter. And it would be a good experience for Amos as well.

He's apparently coming to Oslo today, and will be training with the Molde squad. If everything works out, he will play a friendly for Molde tomorrow already, against Stabæk (the side who was crushed by the reserves recently).

i have seen a him a fair bit in the reserves .. have high hopes

being a first team regular and getting games will be great for him

Looks like he's going the opposite direction to Diouf, on loan.

"Gussi" in the newbies PM'd me this link.

United-keeper til Molde?

He also informed me that the current Molde keeper is shite, so hopefully Ben will get a lot of games.

Yeah, their 2 senior keepers are both very mediocre. The deal is all but confirmed btw.

Says this on Norwegean pages too. Molde does not really have great goalkeepers. Last years first choice goalkeeper Knut Dørum Lillebakk is injured for large parts of this season. His competition for the spot will be Jan Kjell Larsen, former Norway U21 player, and he once trialed for Chelsea. However, he has been crap lately, if this is true, I think Ben Amos can get a lot of playing time. Norway got one of the better defenses in Norway to, so he can work with them.

If he arrives, I think he have a great chance on taking the first team spot.

Amos comes after the Romsdals Budstikke experience to Oslo today to join the MFK-strap. He will train with Molde in Telenor Arena Saturday night. The England goalkeeper will also be relevant for the game from the start of the training match the same place on Sunday afternoon.Likely to discuss the clubs a lease until summer.

Molde has followed the talented youngster over time. Kjell Jonevret and Erling Moe as United's reserve team in both training and match when they visited Manchester before Christmas.Amos also played well in training match between the United reserves and Stabæk in Telenor Arena 30 January. Then set MFKs goalkeeping coach Per Magne Misund in the stands.

Ben Amos was only 11 years old when he came to Manchester United from Crewe Alexandra. He debuted for the first team in a League Cup match against Middlesbrough in September 2008. Last year he was hired out to Championship club Peterborough. Goalkeeper has four age specific caps for England.

Ben Amos has played a variety of games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reserve in United, along with, among others Magnus Eikrem and Mame Biram Diouf.

Fantastic. As stated the goalkeeping position was a weak point for Molde last season so Amos should be able to get into the starting lineup. It also means that Tippeligaen will be interesting to follow this season too.

Amos had a decent game, but Molde lost 2-1. He was not to blame for any of the goals. Other than one situation, he looked in control and had a couple of good saves. Wasn't really tested that much.

I should think they do

Conceded 2 so far tonight at home to Fire. Really should have done better for the second one, beaten near-post after hesitating in a one-on-one. Can't comment on his general performance as I've only seen the goals.

I thought he did well. He's very comfortable with the ball at his feet and he can hold hard crosses other keepers would've dropped. He's absolutely got potential. And he even protected fellow teammates in a brawl in the box. I love that ginger bastard.

All young 'keepers make mistakes, it's the general performance that's key. Hell, even VDS has made the odd mistake (apart from this season!) with soft wrists letting in a goal which shouldn't have gone in. It's promising to hear that he's very good with his feet and at claiming crosses - probably the 2 key attributes for a United keeper at the moment, with our current style of play.

Been starting every game. Done quite well, haven't been put on too many big tests, but has been looking safe in general. A couple of top notch saves, and a couple conceded that he might should have saved so far this season. Molde has conceded quite a lot, but he's not too blame for that, it's the defence that has been horrible.

I always find that you can definitely judge players' true personalities from one chance meeting.

Meeting the reserve team last march after the CC final, most including brown, macheda, petrucci etc... Came over to us (a coach full of slightly drunk mancunians) to talk about the match and football in general, with one notable exception, Ben Amos who was there but walked off.

Haha! Maybe he didn't like the smell of drunk mancunians...

do you know what ignorant means

its not the same as ignoring someone

Dropped a simple high ball into the box to gift Currentsmanor a goal as Molde eventually ran out 3-2 winners. Did alright apart from that.

Hopefully he's one who can get mistakes like those out of his system, early and never to return again, kind of like the chicken pox.

Whats the general opinion of him now he has played a few games?

Conceded 3 as Molde lost at home. He's gained a rep over here as a good shot-stopper but tonight he was beaten rather easily from distance.

Dropped to the bench for yesterday's 1-1 epic away to Henwaterfall.

Update: He hasn't played a league game since he was dropped against Henwaterfall, but he featured in the first round of the cup and, while Molde won, didn't do himself any favors. The second round's tonight, hopefully he'll be in the starting XI.

Not 100% sure on this but I think he might be back in England - certainly I heard he was on Monday. Not sure if it was just a flying visit or if the loan has been ended early with him being dropped.

Not even on the bench tonight. You're probably on to something, PS.

Amos has joined Oldham on loan until the end of the season
