Shanks, why does Liverpool seem to have so many problems with disruptive players? Surely this must have something to do with management? It happens too frequently to say that you've just had a bunch of players with bad personalities.
Fowler, Jari, Babbel, Murphy, and now Hamann apparently.

Bosnich was a cnut, and that had naught to do with Fergie.
Stam, no one knows the truth there and we may never know.
Beckham, that is a genuine clash of personalities, but it is overplayed by the media as well.

If Hamann is true, that makes four players to our one (Bosnich) and he wasn't exactly a great player anyway. I still say that there is something wrong with your management that such players are being run (or running themselve) out of the club.

Shanks is no big supporter of Thommo anyway - and to be honest, Shanks doesn't think that many fans would lose sleep if Thommo was replaced with Gary Mac.
Why are you spending all your money on two players that play in the same position?
Granted, - they are both very good players, but Quaresma is going to be better than both of them if he isn't already.
If I had a straight choice between all three, I'd take Quaresma - and I hope Fergie does as well.

Shanks thinks we'll get one and then a striker and right back - maybe a CB or CM if we have any spare change left over.

If Houllier gets rid of Hamann, Smicer & Heskey after getting rid of Berger, Babbel, etc - where's the experience coming from?
It's fine wanting to reduce the average age of your squad but to the extent that your most experienced players have only 4-5 seasons in top flight football is suicidal - Gerard really wants to rub Hansen's nose in the mud, does he?
How many more seasons does he want to use the same 'they've fallen short because of the youth & lack of experience of the squad but wait till next season' excuse?
But, I'm glad Houllier keeps getting rid of experienced players - it only means Liverpool will fall further behind & become an also-ran club!
