Altringham

Who's starting?

Should really be going to this but I'm out tonight.

From the Getty Images it looked like the team included

Dudgeon
Chester
Gill
Stewart
Simpson
Brandy
Eikrem
James (can't have been a bad injury he picked up for the u19s thankfully)
C Evans

and Dudgeon scored one of the the goals

United: Heaton, Simpson, Gill, Chester, Wootton, C Evans, Stewart, James, Brandy, Eikrem, Dudgeon.

source PS18s side.

1-0 United after 11 mins, Joe Dudgeon converting a great Stewart cross at the far post.

Brady and Norwood on for Evans and Gill at half-time. Slightly confused to emerge from the bar to see alty in a totally different kit...

Double sub on 61, brown for wootton, ajose for brandy.

Sub on 71, Ngoo for stewart, who seemed to be injured.

2-0 after 89 mins, ajose's lob bounces off the post and into the net via an unfortunate defender. Deserved.

Dudgeon went to LB in second half with Brady at OL.

Fairly even game throughout with Alty deserving an equaliser although Tom Heaton was well protected by the defence. Then we got a lucky second right at the end.

Chester was outstanding at the back....Dudgeon impressive throughout.....Brady excellent on the wing and looked like scoring every time he ran at the defence.....but Matty James ran the midfield with ease and was superb.

Will Keane and Ngoo showed some nice touches too.

Goals - Dudgeon '14 and Ajose '89 (could have been own goal)

Does it look like we might sign Ngoo then?

This looks like it could be a big season for Brady, really starting to show why he was so highly rated when we brought him over.

Dudgeon is a bit of an Irwin type, always seems to play well, but never gets the accolades other more flashy players do.

Cheers for that,good summary

A few notable absentees from that squad: I assume Cathcart may be involved tomorrow v Valencia, but Hewson, Gray and Cleverley were also not included. Does this mean they are involved tomorrow or going on loan (or even sold)?

I'd imagine a few have to be looking at loan spells.

In addition to the players mentioned above, I thought Magnus Eikrem had a very good game as well. Always seemed to be able to find space and have plenty of time on the ball, used it intelligently, unlucky not to score in the first half. Seems to be getting stronger and more equipped to play in these sort of games all the time.

I thought 2-0 was a reasonably fair reflection as well, Alty came into the game after we dominated the first half-hour or so but they didn't threaten a great deal and we always looked the more likely to score again.

Have to say I thought Will Keane looked very good as a 16 year-old coming on against a physically imposing side, really like the look of him. Seems a very clever footballer.
